This was LearningIamok's idea. I thought it might bring some humor to everyone.
Mine bought so far.
A motorized bike
A beat up power boat
And is now buying a surfboard ;D He turns 65 in a few months...but going on 16 ;D
-
LMAO!! wwtd...
That is funny!!! a surfboard?? hehehehe ;)
The only thing that my H did that was dumb, he financed a $20,000 Cadillac...for Ow.
Now he is stuck with a combined payment and Ins. of $650 a month... >:(
right after BD...he talked about taking "dance lessons" LOL!
and he bought...weird stuff..
like foam airplane toys and remote control helicopters...he is 43 going on 13..:)
-
Well, let's see. My ex hubby did the following (within 6-8 months):
1). Traded his 2006 vehicle for a 2010 vehicle
2). Bought a used sports car
3). Bought OW a brand new car (later traded for a truck for himself)
4). Purchased two motorcycles
5). Bought all kinds of leather motorcycle gear
6). Talked about taking flying lessons (never did)
7). Bought a bicycle (no knowledge that he's ever ridden it)
Oh, one more thing..........my ex just closed on a house without a job!
-
Mine:
traded in old car for new "sporty" car
LOTS of new clothes (a shiney silver/grey rainjacket that tops the list of most tasteless items I have ever seen him wear, but I am sure it cost a packet)
whole new wardrobe for my little girl (went shopping with OW as if they are playing dress-up with a doll) very little for my son, who is older (not so cute? :o) and so doesn't get his own wardrobe of clothes at daddy's house.
I do not talk to him, so other than that i really have no idea what else he spends his money on. Before BD he was constantly downloading the latest pop music onto his ipod, buying CD's and DVD's, because (and I quote) "I just love the ENERGY of teenagers, they are so cool".
Well, maybe if they ARE in fact teenagers. Not so sure about 36 year old men masquerading as teenagers; are they cool? Lets ask some teenagers..... :P

LIW:
Hulla hoop.......PRICELESS!
Mine bought a $650 bicycle.....he has had his ass on it twice.
60 in LED tv
And 3 months before BD....traded his 350z. For a new BMW.
Booked a 2500 trip to Mexico for July8-16....... Had me cancel it and loose 300....had me cancel it last Thursday....then Last night rebook it again to go for my birthday. We leave Friday.....
CRAZY.....WACKED out stuff!!!
-
In my opinion, right now, the hula hoop and surfboard tops the list!
-
I agree LMM.....gotta love the hula hoop!!
wonder what in the world he was thinking?? man to be inside the MLC brain...LOL!!
-
WWTD,
I'm glad you got this going.LOL The Hula Hoop is the most mentally challenged purchase so far. Mine was going to rent to own a condo in case he decided to come back. He spent 250K buying one, it just fell in his lap, fully furnished it, big screen tv (but he only has basic cable, boo hoo) and says he can't afford the electricity to run the air and now can't afford to replace worn out shirts. Well Moron, what did you think was going to happen?
-
LIW, My best friend just came back from a cruise. She said one of the performers could spin 50 Hula Hoops at a time. Maybe he's looking for a career in the cruise industry. ;D

I'm lucky mine is very FRUGAL and tired and depressed. He walks around like Clint Eastwood with a bug up his ass. A scared and confused Clint Eastwood. He goes to Salvation Army and buys a Mr Coffee Pot for 3 dollars and spends the next 10 years reminding me how smart he is to buy things at a cheap price. ::) ::)
Meanwhile I can buy a really cool coffee pot with less than 1 hours pay from work and I'd rather work hard and have a couple of NICE COOL THINGS.
I am hoping he doesn't get cash advances on his secret Visa card to pay THEIR rent. The stupid Bowser Train Wreck Suzzie. ::)
-
MammaBear,
I have to say, you really give me a good laugh just when I need it. I'm waiting to see how my ex hubby handles being on his own without his high paying job. Should be interesting. I've lived my entire life making sacrifices so I know how.......my ex has a lot to learn.
-
LMM I know what you mean . They don't see the consequences that lay ahead. They Fly by the seat of their pants. :o :o
Crazy. I remember in pharmacy school I used to sleep in my car in Queens,NY so I had a good parking space. This after having worked as a waitress all night to pay the bills. He had a motel handed to him and he RAN it into the ground. (before we met)
No concept. I need popcorn for this one. My sister keeps reminding me that he will wake up and be HORRiIFIED by what he did to his life. (like her H was when he woke up) My sister had a good one. When that whole arnold Scwarzennegger story broke she called me and said "Did you see his OW? I think she has your Hs beat in the UGLY DEPT" LOL LOL

My ExH bought a house!
Almost a year after he abandoned his successful business where he earned a 6 figure salary, he spent £150K on a house. He had decided to become a property developer apparently. It's only a tiny 2 bed house but 13 months later it is still a shell. Meanwhile he's paying huge rent to a very smart landlord!

Hula Hoop - that's great
How about - a vespa (scooter)
endless talks of upgrading to a motorbike (apparently much safer in the traffic)
an old SUV - so old, it continuously breaks down, and thousands are spent on repair each year
old 70's ten speed push bike. All the 'hipsters' ride them
a surfboard
a longboard (large skateboard)
endless amounts of 'young' music
studio space that 'everyone' just loves to go to. Websites showcasing ENORMOUS ego, and endless funky little videos.
(Hey, I guess there's time to indulge all of that when you ignore all your responsibilites and your children - wow, what a guy!) Was he ever that appealing I'm now wondering.
Actually he was - he used to be extremely modest .......... maybe that was a cover up!
Our eldest son thinks it all started years ago with the purchase of the leather jacket. Looking back, I think he's right!!!
Sons mortally embarrassed. Remember reading that the sportscar of old MLC has been replaced with SUV's and Motorbikes.
Volume of major accidents involving the aging male and motorbikes is scarily high - slowed responses, eye sight fading, may
never have experienced riding one before .......... they are so tragic - are they ever humiliated by all of this?
Sounds like we've got an especially tragic version here. MLC poster boy!!
-
The hula hoop is pricelss, but a surfboard AND a longboard may be a winner...
-
I love the ones brave enough to be running around buying HOUSES AND CONDOS...and the hoola hoop and the skate boards LOL
-
At the moment, I'm truly sickened and totally upset with the recent news I just heard about my ex hubby. He no longer just has 2 motorcycles..........He's now the owner of a "fleet"............count em.........6!! Does the madness ever stop? How can they ever survive all this craziness? It just boggles the normal mind. Definitely not theirs!
-
SIX? HOLY CRAP? Is he Jay Leno? WTF ? I can't stop laughing. Sorry..
-
How many can he ride at one time?
This got me thinking about a co-worker who was into boats. During the time that I have known him (quite a few years) he kept collecting boats. He no longer has a wife (wonder why????) but has a fleet of boats and keeps buying them.
Oh well.
BTW - My H has 3 surfboards (all still here) a longboard, a shortboard and I guess one would be called medium.

Thanks for the laugh, Mamma Bear..........you put a spin on my mood. I'm so disgusted with him at the moment. I just can't wrap my brain around it.........and he is about to get FIRED! He's already on Admin. Leave pending investigation. I understand from my friend/his coworker that the deck is stacked against him. Things look very bleak in his world. Just makes me so ANGRY!!
-
LMM, I think you should restrict your H's tv time. No more Sons of Anarchy, no Old Dogs, no Pagan Motorcycle Gang documentaries. Does he ride them all, or does he just sit on one of them pretending he is in a gang with invisible members? Just wondering.
-
Learning,
You got me. I have no idea.........what in the world he's thinking.......oh, right........he's not! He currently lives in an apartment so I'm sure he's had to "rent" an extra garage. It's just so amazing to me. I also found out from the same friend/coworker of his that he's been through two more women. He dumped one fairly quick and is now involved with another one at the moment. So, this makes the 4th one in less than two years........as far as I know. So, maybe it's a contest between motors and women! Go figure. I'm truly disgusted. I've got to take a few steps back to find my place of calm and peace again.
-
ut oh,
If I count kids motorcycles, I've got 6 and enough parts for one more. :o
-
LMM, Zsa Zsa Gabor had a joke saying "I am a wonderful housekeeper, whenever I divorce a man, I keep his house." Maybe that's what he's doing with the motorcycles. He gets the OW's bike everytime he dumps one. ;D ;D
-
My H left his first marriage with very little. I knew he could play drums so I suggested when we sell MY house and by a new family home that we buy him a kit if the house sold for over an agreed amount. I felt sorry for him that he had to sell his previous kit. AAGH what a bad move that was.
He's been upgrading and buying accessories ever since. I felt like the drums and his bands (he never stuck it out long enough to be successful with one) were always ahead of the kids and I. One time when I expressed my concern at him wanting yet another kit, he told me I was selfish! I don't know what he's bought since he's left but I as he doesn't have much room to store anything, I think it's more like stuff on OW such as a romantice weekend away (up the road from where he took me a couple of months earlier! SICK).
He did suggest we buy a Voyager as we needed a bigger car so I found one at a good price and had the loan organised while he knew all along he would be leaving. It was meant to be a work car for him during the week so we could claim tax deductions as money was tight but the kids were growing. We picked it up after he dropped the bomb so I made him put the car in his name and be stuck with selling it again. No use for a 7 seater now! He said he wanmted me to have a nice car..SICK. Well it's still not sold, so I guess that will be his when we agree on property settlement and he can be stuck with it instead of cash HA HA
-
Good one, Learning. You made me laugh.
Okay, Rebel, you are an exception........your off the hook!
-
LMM - my H would be so jealous - SIX motorcycles ......
I hear through the grapevine, that it's the OW's dream to get her motorcycle license one day. It's all so tweenie - let me take on my boyfriend's passions, and make them mine. We are SOUL MATES!! Your wife is mean, she doesn't like motorbikes!
RY - I think you're safe. Your sanity is intact, and the kids bikes are simply not in the same category .........
