I wanted to share this video as it directly applies to many of us here.  I'm much less intrigued by how little emphasis is put on causes or reasons, and in disbelief that the only emotional attachment the reporter applied to any of this was "the initial shock" the woman went through.  Initial shock?  How about years of pain and sadness?  To me, the report trivializes this way too much.

I thought it actually put a positive spin on divorcing in your 50's and 60's with no consequences. No mention of children and their reaction whilst their parents go on 'solo'.

Wish it was all soooo easy. How do we ever stop people opting into divorce because they thought they would like to do things differently.

I agree Thundarr, didn't talk at all about the trauma for the LBS.  As for the man in the story, seems like the typical MLCer -- it's all about him and what he now wants to do in life with no regard to the commitment he made to his marriage.

I have not hit the link, but the boomers as a whole have been the "me" generation. It is not surprising that a generation focused on self would have no issues about disposing themselves of marriages since they are a group that grew up in a disposable world. Car problems? Get a new car. Hate the city? Move. Hate your job? Start a new one.

Personally, I really hate the word divorce and the very idea of it makes me sick to my stomach. Yes, I see so many children hurt over divorce and the parents don't care one bit.
