I don't know if we have a topic like this. This is for motivational quotes/ pictures/ short stories.
Here's my first contribution:
From every wound there is a scar, and every scar tells a story.
A story that says, I survived.

"You wanted amicable? Amicable suggests friendly, and my FRIENDS do not treat me as if I were disposable." --Wed2Him4Ever
Granted it is not all that inspirational or motivational, but it does make me feel good now remembering I said that to my H. ;) ;D
Seriously, though, here is a much better contribution that I really did like seeing:

I can't take credit for finding this, CrazyStuff sent it in a PM to me. But I love it so much that I wrote it in a little book I have and read it every day.

A friend sent this to me the other day:
“Go Forward With Courage
When you are in doubt,
be still, and wait;
when doubt no longer exists for you,
then go forward with courage.
So long as mists envelop you, be still;
be still until the sunlight
pours through and dispels the mists
- as it surely will.
Then act with courage.”

If you always do what you always did: you'll always get what you always got
This too shall pass
Fear can do one of two things: It can paralyze you or motivate you. It's your choice.
Courage is fear that has said it's prayers

“Personality” is easy to understand. Your “personality” is how people experience you. It’s your public persona.
But what is “character?” And why is “character” so crucial in your marriage?
Character is who you are when no one is watching.
The reason so many people fail at marriage and an attempt at marriage renewal is NOT that they don’t like their spouse. It’s that they don’t like THEMSELVES. And while everyone else in their life is like a mirror reflecting their personality; their spouse is a mirror reflecting their character. And most people don’t like what they see.
Many people would rather choose to be with someone else than remain with their spouse and have to continue to be with themselves. (Did you get that?)
Mort Fertel (Marriage Coach)

Absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOOVE that, Kikki.

This is what Wed wrote on her thread:
It takes time. Journeys take time. There's no shortcut. No substitute. You can only wake up in the morning and do your thing all day and go to sleep at night and repeat the next day. There's the big "secret." Stop thinking you have to do something to MAKE your heartache leave you alone. You're closer to that day, every day, regardless of what you do. Now, I'll admit, you can do things to help or hurt your sitch. What I'm saying is, your sitch won't stop so keep plowin' through the dang thing! Let your light simply outlast your MLCer's dark place! This mistakes you've made? Puh-leeze! Your MLCer now resides in Mistake City, so let 'em go, baby!

That article couldn't be more right, MF. I talk to my kids a lot about how FB isn't real, and so on, that it's more important to put time and energy into real friendships rather than having tons of FB friends, and so on.
And the bit about those who write things about their relationship "for show" was good!

Some principles for life , taken from American Indian wisdom.
Honesty
To achieve honesty within yourself,
To recognize who and what you are ,
Do this and you can be honest with all others
Humility
Humble yourself and recognize that
No matter how much you think you know,
You know very little of all the universe.
Truth
To learn truth,
To live with truth, and
To walk with truth,
To speak truth
Wisdom
To have wisdom is to know the difference between good and bad, and
To know the result of your actions
Love
Unconditional love to know that when people are weak
They need your love the most,
That your love is given freely, and
You cannot put conditions on it
Or your love is not true
Respect
Respect others, their beliefs, and
Respect yourself.
If you cannot show respect,
You cannot expect respect to be given
Bravery
To be brave is to do something right,
Even if you know it's going to hurt you.
Love this thread!!

“Imaginary evil is romantic and varied; real evil is gloomy, monotonous, barren, boring. Imaginary good is boring; real good is always new, marvelous, intoxicating.”

Never place the keys to your happiness in someone else's pocket.

In the book "The Law of Happiness" by Dr. Henry Could, he points out that only 10% of happiness is based on circumstances. 50% of our happiness is due to our genetics and the remaining 40% we control through the way we live.

Let go of your results.
The big enemy of happiness is worry, which comes from focusing on events that are outside your control. Once you've taken action, there's usually nothing more you can do. Focus on the job at hand rather than some weird fantasy of what might happen.
