I don't know how many have been following the story of Lane Goodwin, but he's a 13 year-old boy here in my home state who is dying of cancer. He has a huge following on Facebook (the "Thumbs Up" campaign) and has fans around the world. Well, he's taken a turn for the worse and the family is surrounding him now. Having lost a child, my heart bleeds for the family tonight as they don't know if he has minutes or hours left. Our current problems are trivial to what they are going through tonight. I will spend this night with them in my prayers and not focusing on my little problems, and I hope others do the same. HS Warriors Assemble!!

I just learned that little Lane passed away tonight, ironically as I was making the thread. He gained his angel wings and touched so many people. He now walks a road laid with prayers to meet his Father above. I now pray for his family as they are going through the worst thing imaginable. No parent should ever have to bury their child. It is the worst thing imaginable. Trust me on that.

Bless him. He is beyond pain now! And even in his passing, he touched so many lives and did so much good.
T, I sometimes bring up your sitch to my dad. I have a brother three years older than me who only lived 14 hours. My dad was the only person beyond the hospital staff who spent time with him in his lifetime. It's a grieving that never stops, and I know my life has always been touched in some way by that little baby (who I now see as a very sarcastic but supportive big brother that would be kicking the snot out of Hoss!). But I have seen my dad grow into an acceptance that is more at peace, as we celebrate a life that truly was, and still is. We are not given the blessing of having them in our physical lives to build memories with, but know she has never left either of your sides, especially through this struggle. I hope I haven't overstepped by saying that, but I want to encourage you. God bless all of you who have lost children.

No overstep at all. I pray daily that she watch over her mother and her siblings and keep them safe, and that she helps lead her mother back home.

And now my prayers tonight will focus on the family left standing....that they can remain strong TOGETHER. Thank you so much for leading this for all of us Thundarr....
