Hi superdog - i just came across this quote and i've adopted it as my own:
"i don't want to get to the end of my life and find that i've just lived the length of it. i want to have lived the width of it as well" by Diane Ackerman
so, my goal for this year and every year after is to living every inch long and wide of my life, try everything that comes my way - no more regrets, no more what ifs. that is my goal! :)
-
Wow, I really hope you DO live every inch of it. I love that I may steal!

I want to sail again!!
-
Mitzpah, You should. It doesn't have to cost a thing. Find a yacht club and volunteer to sail/race with someone. Don't let anyone or anything make you give up the things you love to do. Sometimes you just have to do it differently than before.
My goals are to keep gaining strength, patience and continue to focus on me with only one eye :o on my H and his recovering crisis. I'd also like to whip this 50 yr old body into better shape :D
-
Mitzpah, I think you made a mistake. I think what you meant to write was:-
I WILL sail again! ;-)
Wondering, I am sure that you are gorgeous as you are, but you go for it!

One thing I would like to do is a zip line they have on the mountain near me. Definitely going to save up some money to do that with the kids this summer.
Find a class to take. Perhaps cooking, photography or a painting class.

Thanks for starting this thread Superdog. Here's a quote that inspires me:
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming—“WOW”- what a ride!” – Anonymous
In 2013 I want to let go of my fears, heal more, take some risks and let God do his thing without me trying to "help".
Happy New Year everyone!

I want to get in better shape physically & mentally & enjoy life. I won't forget:
“If you are depressed you are living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present.”

I am retiring this year. I want time to spend with the people who have stood through thick an thin with me. I want to take better care of myself, get my house in order. Not really sure where I am headed, but it will be a peaceful place and I will spend my time with a peaceful heart I hope.
-
I am going to find some new passions, rediscover some old ones, and have more FUN! I'm going to finish the opera I started in college before my birthday in September, finally learn how to swim, buy a car, and take some classes, for both fun and to further my career. It's TIME!
-
I am getting back into shape and continue to increase my strength...not just physical but emotional too. I am going to live in the moment more and analyze less. I am going to spend more quality time with my kids and not sweat the small stuff. 2012 has been tough. I don't care to do it again but I know that if my H drops bomb #3, I will survive. Happy New Year All!!!

I am going to be even more grateful for all the blessings I have in my life and those on the way, donate more of my time to charity and pursue work that involves energy healing Reiki). Also, going to get my road bike license. Not sure how I will afford an actual bike but hey, one step at a time.
Happy New Years to All ;)

I plan to start smoking, gain weight and go deeper in debt (my running joke from every year, followed by "I'm batting 2 out of 3." Lame I know).
Actually, I plan to get a new vehicle and continue to further my career at the new agency. I also plan to return to being more social and accepting as many invitations as I can. I still plan to be here for W if she happens to reach out for the life-saver I have floating in the water for her, but irregardless of that I want this year to be filled with pleasant memories.
-
not lame Thundarr, you made me chuckle ;)
-
mine is to just let life happen and be amazed by how wonderful it will be

Hi my first goal will be to have an alcohol free january and get down to the gym to get rid if the belly, lol.
I will also focus on me this year and what I want for me. I will be studying still, paychogy and I will be volunteering at a charity that helps young families cope with difficult social homelives, eg with young children, disabled children etc, to try and help the single parents or young couples to be empowered. It will only take up a couple of hours a week, and it will be rewarding.
Also getting rid of loads of junk in the house, for cash hopefully, to buy more junk.
I will just be plodding on with my job and sorting my finances still, nearly there though.
I plan not to worry about what h does or does not do, unless the children are involved and upset by anything, he can do what he wants. Bored with his childishness now, time to move away from the playground.
I think that should do me plus the usual keeping boys and me happy and safe. Xx

Hey great thread Superdog - didn't know you were from Scotland - I am too :)
My goals for 2013 are to:
Write more music
Finish my novel (it started off as a futuristic novel but it's been so long it's almost historical now hee hee :)
Work on making my business a huge success and help lots of other business owners in the process
Socialise more (which relies slightly on the goal above)
Take some train journeys to places I've never been before
Go running at least 3 times per week
Meditate every day (nearly have this down)
Take friends and family up on their offers for me to go and stay with them
Learn to play the piano
Take a trip to New York and, if I can afford it, take a road trip from there right over to the West of the US
:) x

IBIA - I like this a lot :) Know how you feel.

BD was only 3 months ago but I'm learning to detach and love myself again. I realized I can be independent and be happy..
I love cooking so I will get into that again after supporting H for so many years on what he wanted to do. I also learnt fruits & veggies carving and I will practice on that too
That's a small goal for me ;) This will continue in 2014 ;D
