Midlife Crisis: Support for Left Behind Spouses

I am offering to host a gathering for JULY 4 weekend. July 4 is a Thursday. I can house about 8 folks in beds and many more on air mattresses if people have them. Tenting is also an option and I have an indoor space that is available for sleeping bags.
I have asked WHAT NEXT for tips.
My town has fireworks over the Delaware River. There is an old fashioned fourth of july celebration one town over.
LOTS to see around here. With a big crowd, I´d need cooking help and some pitching in for food.
I´m about one hour north of Philly. Come by the day, come for a get away.
Please let me know so you can claim a bed.

I may be able to attend Sat nite to Sun. My S22 (23 at that point since his birthday is 7/3) will be home on leave during that time. I will know closer to the date my availability. I have no more vacation time.

We need to have a cooking contest for OP, because I already told him I was a better cook than you. Talk about putting pressure on OP, he knows those Steel Magnolias cook everything with lard and bacon grease. You could use a few pounds OP, and so could I.
You guys need a fool to entertain you and keep you laughing, and I am the the perfect candidate. Until then, I will continue to practice my pranks and crazy antics to keep all of you on your toes.

I can do this! Just trying to figure out if I want to fly or drive... Anyone between MO and PA that wants to carpool with me? Learning, Magnolia? And I want to go see Kinky Boots, Magnolia, you can call that work, too, right? So a little road trip into the city? But I might stay a full week, but don't worry FTT, I won't take up residence with you--I'll probably go see my fam for a couple days, my bestest friend--the one with whom I would not have survived MLC lives in Ambler, and I have several friends in NYC. I have connections at all the best restaurants, too. Oh, and I can cook FTT, will totally cover you there. I used to cater, so I can feed hundreds without breaking a sweat. Gonna go think on this one! ll

Lisa, I am an hour beyond FTT so I would be of no use to you carpooling, but I am excited that you are attending. Let me know if you will be there for the 4th or over the weekend. I would love to meet you.

I would love to join in and meet the people that have helped me through the craziness of the past several months. I live about 2 hours from Philly but have most of my family in that area. I'll be in and out of that neck of the woods for the holiday so please include me when you finalize plans.

Let´s try to firm up the numbers so I can start planning activities and menus.
It will help immensely if folks bring their own towel, pillow and sheets.
I have a hot tub, so bring a bathing suit. If you want to get your hands dirty- got plenty of farm chores that could use some help. If not, no worries. If their are any dietary needs, please be upfront about it. If ya snore, confess and you´ll be "isolated."

I will also be in Maryland for the July 4th holiday and may be able to join the gathering, if there's still room. I'm not sure of my schedule yet, but please keep me in mind for planning purposes. Bacon, lard, I could bring scrapple... :)

So who will be there, and when? I am so excited to meet some of you, and just excited to be back on the east coast for the first time in a while. Ok, back home from a road trip.
The "inn" is open starting on 7/3 and ya´ll are welcome until check out on Sunday.

I will post the events in the area soon- gotta get the paper- there is an old fashioned July 4 parade in the next town over, fireworks around the block and I´m sure lots of other things.
PM me with your plans and questions. Let me know if your budget means that you prefer dining in for all meals or if you´d be able to go out for lunch or dinner at least once- specify lunch or dinner.
If someone could give Phoenix a ride - don´t know where she is other than NY state, Mama Bear?, please PM her.

If you are planning to come and don´t already have my address, please PM me.
I have a set of blank canvases and if you have some acrylic or oil paints lying around and some brushes and ever had a desire to paint plein aire (sp?), bring them along. Maybe Learning will give us a lesson. If you want to do this, bring along your best straw sunhat- gotta look the part.
I am willing to lead a yoga session- if interested, bring some yoga type clothes. I have lots of mats.
If you play a musical instrument that fits in the car, bring it along.
