Off-Topic Books
« on: June 18, 2017, 05:47:48 PM »
Ok, so my GAL has had me reading a lot of books.  Self help, mlc, religion, current and classics. Thought it might be fun to share what we have been reading to give each other some ideas.....

Recently read "Frankenstein"

Anyone have any good reads lately?
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear — Nelson Mandela

I never lose.  I either win or learn! - Nelson Mandela

For we have fallen from our shelves, To face the truth about ourselves.  "The Gift", Annie Lennox

"You must do the thing you think you cannot do."  Eleanor Roosevelt

Grace makes beauty out of ugly things.  U2 "Grace"

We have all been dealt a hand of cards in this game of life.   Are you going to play or fold?

Great books I've been reading (or started to read) lately:

Reinventing your life (by Young & Klosko, about schemas and schema therapy, HIGLY RECOMMENDED for everyone)
The Sedona method (by Hale Dwoskin, about letting go as your attitude with negative feelings, unfinished)
Awakening (by Anthony De  Mello, about beliefs and how we actually live our life with our eyes closed)

"I've seen dreams that move the mountains, hope that doesn't ever end even when the sky is falling. I've seen miracles just happen, silent prayers get answered, broken hearts become brand new. That's what faith can do." Kutless

Great thread. I always like getting book reccommendations. I'm reading Switch on Your Brain, The Key to Peak Happiness, Thinking and Health by Dr Caroline Leaf.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Cor 13:13
