Author Topic: MLC Monster Actual statistics on marriage and divorce. Don't believe the hype!

I ran across this article today which, by itself, isn't very informative other than offering an objective opinion.  The links within the article are excellent and cite a journal article that references actual statistical census data about trends in marriage and divorce.  Bottom line - only about 36% actually get divorced so those of us who are or are headed that way are pretty much in the statistical bottom 3rd given standard variation allowances.  What does it mean?  Not much unless our spouses somehow get the message that it's not the "in" thing to do like the liberal media would have us believe.

Thundarr,

I don't know what is wrong with Fox News, since I don't watch them.

Either something is wrong with Fox News or with me!  I think it is the latter.  In one instance, I made a remark, sarcastic I might add, to a group (audience of 30+) that 'If you are looking for the truth, stick to only Fox news'.  I was scared to death when 10+ of them genuinely nodded their head in agreement.

Disclaimer:  I don't watch TV.  Period.  And have not watched it for 10+ years and still counting.  Thoreau's comment "What has happened worth reporting since French revolution" comes to mind.

After my H announced his intent to file for divorce and I was crying he told me that I was "too loyal."  Loyalty.  Yeah.  That big relationship killer.  Now I'm wishing I had remarked, "Apparently you're not loyal enough."
