That book didn't figure into our issues but H definitely wants the fantasy.  He thinks you should continually have that new relationship high or it is too much work, or not real love.  Before he moved out of the house,  he even mentioned that maybe he had seen and believed in too many romantic comedies but that wasn't enough to stop him, apparently.  Somehow us having to get married b/c I was pregnant(after being together for 5 years and living together) tainted OUR relationship but getting involved with someone he tried to hook up with while he was still married won't be a problem for him. :o

Maybe we see it as fluff because we can identify fantasy as fantasy. Some who grew up having to cope by denying reality may be wired to see fantasy as a goal.

Just goes to show.... This fantasy/teen rommance novel stuff sells... Very poorly prented too... A movie yuck... That's taking vanilla chick flick to a whole new low. I sped glanced the book to see where it was going... Torture to try to read!  Thank goodness for public libraries lol.

I guess if your wife or husband is following the script on that one, then you could use that knowledge to turn the tables... himmm.  After all if they are clinging to that fantasy....  Well if you want any ideas ladies and gents... Just ask... wink/lol.

Interesting that you say that. I'll not get too graphic , but my wife expressed the desire for....shall we say....more excitement/experimentation/something new in & out of the bedroom. I never thought we had the need for that type of thing, both were always pretty straight forward in our sexuality, but I took the bait to see what would happen.

Quite an unexpected surprise; not only receptive but quite a "turn of the tables" as you said. I haven't read the book yet, but I need to. If this book is about a "dominant alpha male" in the bedroom, then it explains some things!

End State: I'm glad it is over, for several reasons....too many to list here. I am so much better off and, aside from the great kids we have, regret ever marrying her.

That book will prove useless, but there are others that would be helpful... This grey one is just that grey shades, and useless.  You'd need to take advantage of a well written reference book!

Once I suffered, did the emotional messups, saw the dead look in his eyes..
I realized this (MLC) was a mental chess game.

And in regards to what ever is singing to your spouse, ya gotta play this well:

Particularly if you have been handed the "lucky" kink card...
Choose your moves wisely.

It's kinda like the Gambler song:

I can see you're out of aces
For a taste of your whiskey
I'll give you some advice"

So I handed him my bottle
And he drank down my last swallow
Then he bummed a cigarette
And asked me for a light
And the night got deathly quiet
And his faced lost all expression
He said, "If you're gonna play the game, boy
You gotta learn to play it right

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
Know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

Do you feel that the series of "Fifty Shades of Grey" has created an influx of cheating due to the 'fantasy' factor?
I know for a fact the alienator read the entire series before her and my husband started up, which makes my stomach turn in every which way!!

I did NOT read these books and have no desire to.

I wouldn't say it created it....it's just the next "new" thing in the fantasy romance cr@p! MWD over on the DB sight expresses how she feels "Hollywood" has created this false sense of relationships & marriage...selling the notion of "riding off into the sunset with Mr. Perfect and living happily ever after" is the way it is! It's BS! False expectations!

No, I don't think it created it, but just like any other romance novel or movie, it plants seeds for those weakened, unhappy and on the verge!. Just my $0.02.
