Meet-Up LBS Meet-up in Chicago in mid-July?
OP: June 01, 2013, 07:12:38 AM
Hello all,

Not trying to set records on the number of open threads but thought I would be a bit pro-active in putting a line out to see if anyone was interested in doing an LBS meet-up in Chicago the third week in July.  I'm planning a vacation with the kids and I and we are looking at fun things for us to do while we're up there, and the idea came up a month or so ago but at the time I didn't know when we would be going.  I know Covenant For Life and a few others live around that area and we'll be staying in Northern Chicago so others might be in driving distance as well.  Anyone interested, and if so what do you have in mind?

Bumping this thread as I'm heading to Chicago on Friday.  Plan on being there until Wednesday and am still putting together my itinerary (in other words, all the places the kids wan to go are taken care of now I have to schedule for me; lol).  Going to be pretty busy but I would like to touch bases with some of us who are in the area if anyone's interested.

Hi Thundarr!

Absolutely! Can't believe I did not see this post earlier.  I am interested in a meeting!  Just let me know some details on your schedule.

You are picking a hot and humid time.  86% humidity and nothing but cement to radiate the heat yesterday and today.  Chicago is a great place to visit though.  Lots of great things to do and some are even free!  Not much is around here though.  Great museums, Navy Pier, restaurants, shopping, aquarium, planetarium, the lake, beaches, two zoos, carriage rides, great music, good beer, architecture.  I could go on and on.  Of course the bad things about a big city too, but nothing is perfect although we here like to think we are pretty darn close with our wonderful city!  ;)

if people won’t listen to you, there’s no point in talking to people. If they won’t listen, you’re just banging your head against a wall.

Sadly Ive used up all the time I had allotted to spend banging my head on the wall
