Ouch, so sorry to hear about S's accident, MD. At least it sounds like he's stable and on the (long) mend.

<hugs>

Everything has a beginning and an end. Life is just a cycle of starts and stops. They're ends we don't desire, but they're inevitable and we have to face them. That's what being human is all about.  -Jet Black, Cowboy Bebop

  • You can't please everyone. You are NOT a pizza!

The problem always is none of us can control another human being. Once I realized I couldn't control him, it allowed me to grow on my own. The reality for so many LBS is those MLCers don't face their issues and by the time maybe some do, we have either grown weary of their spinning or I know in my case, I have outgrown that life. I have also embraced what I have cultivated and don't want to disrupt my own life.

This sums it ALL up in a few short sentences. We can not control the Mid-Lifer or what they do. We can ONLY control how we respond and what WE choose to do with our lives..... By the time the majority of the Mid-Lifers pull their head out of their .... fog... assuming they do, it is simply too late. We have moved on, grown, changed...

A "friend" will not "stand by you" no matter what you do. That is NOT a friend. That is an enabler. That is an accomplice.
A REAL friend will sit you down and tell you to your face to stop being a firetrucking idiot before you ruin your life and the lives of those around you.
