Yes, let's go for 14-16 October. If anyone wants to spend more time, they can (but I don't know my timetable yet, so can only guarentee that I'll be around at the weekend).
Hotel prices at this time of year will be cheap; A five star spa hotel in the
BOAVISTA area of Porto, such as Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa, or the Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa is €210/ €228 for two nights on Bookings.com. Non-spa four-star hotels in the same BOAVISTA area are €110 for two nights.
Eating out is quite cheap too; €20/ €25 per person on average.
There are metros / buses/ taxis from the airport.
Weather in October can be rainy, but it's unpredictable. It's not usually too cold, with an average temperature of around 21ºc, but bring a raincoat, umbrella and something warmer for evenings.
http://www.porto.world-guides.com/porto_weather.htmlThe old parts of town are interesting to walk around. There are some beautiful old cafés to see, Clerigos tower, Sé Cathedral, Serralves modern Art museum, city tours, old bridges, beach restaurants, and of course, on the other side of the river in Gaia, many Port wine caves with tours and tasting sessions.
