Honour, that last post seemed to come across as a personal attack on StarGazerGirl.  It sounds like you have some pretty strong religious beliefs but please try to be aware that not everyone on this board feels the same way you do.  We are all here to support each other while dealing with the beast that is MLC.  Different people have different methods and it is great that we have so many folks here willing to share.  Peace.

SpecialK, maybe you could buy your own tarot deck (or medicine cards, etc.) and start doing your own readings?  Or even just pull a card a day. Doing it yourself might help you focus more on your own intuition and inner voice.  Sit.  Be still.  Trust yourself.  It does sound like you're not getting much out of the calls you are making, and losing $$ on top of it.  :(

Phew!  Even though I do not believe in such things, I'm not sure that I'd enjoy having it pointed out that I was the 666th visitor to a forum.  We have had so much of a frenzy whipped up around this in the media with horror movies being made about it etc, we all have a small irrational fear.  A bit like the terror bred into people because of the movie 'jaws'.
So - am not quite sure where you were going with this Honour, but it didn't feel very supportive of Star.  I'm sure that wouldn't have been your intention.

As a matter of interest, recent studies of original documents have Oxford Scholars convinced that the number as documented was actually 616!!!  As with everything, these things are very open to interpretation.  Many cultures/religions actually believe the 'number of the beast' has a positive meaning :)
Each to his own, I say ......

Jumping in here, and Honour, I understand your point of view, but it is not shared by all.... declaring your "point of view" as definitive can be off putting.....

Prior to MLC, I had never had certain "experiences".... anyone who has followed along from the beginning, knows what "experiences" I am referring to.... I don't tout that my "experience" is a) TRUE or b) THE TRUTH... it is simply my experience, and by journaling it TRUTHFULLY, opinion be damned, others with similar "experiences" can share or relate to what I write.... I still would not declare my "experiences" as TRUE.... this doesn't mean I engage in the "God, universe, whatever...." dialogue.... it just means that, like an AGNOSTIC, I KNOW, that I do not "Know"!! I also "Know", that YOU do not know..... I also know, that even though I "know"..... I might not actually KNOW!

Figure that out and get back to me, LOL!!

Astrology, past life regression, Reiki healing, meditation, prayer to God, prayer to the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Psychics, Tarot, Angel Cards, Angels..... Crystals, Incense...lighting candles at church, talking to my invisible friends in the shower.....

Some of us do not need CONCRETE answers.... we are not scientific.... cut and dried... we are "open"..... sometimes grasping.... but we ALL know, it is peripheral.....we are not stupid, or easily duped.... but sometimes, you just want to see a psychic, damn it!! Sometimes what you hear is AMAZING and TRUE... and sometimes it is vague and irrelevant.... perhaps you haven't had the type of experience I've had, BUT, that doesn't mean it's not in your future.... and that could make all the difference in your perception... OR NOT.. it's ok by me!!

Hello

In defence of Honour, I found her comments useful to me (proof we are all different).  I'm in a different situation because I have allowed my life to be controlled by tarot/physics to the point where I can't/won't think for myself, I turn to tarot.

Warrior:  Thank you for comments, I appreciate them  :),  but honestly getting my own tarot would not help me in anyway. I do need to let go and try going through this alone (so to speak), like a child who has their stabilisers taken off their bike.  Actually just sprung to mind is a story I read to my great niece on Sunday about a baby dear who's Mum was teaching him to let go and go through things alone.

Hello everyone!

Thank you all for commenting and for polling. It didn't phase me to learn that I was the 666th member.  8) I didn't take it to heart.

The only credence I would give to this *nonsense* :-X is that, through the years, I've realized that I fit the description of Pisces *perfectly* and he, a Gemini, fits EXACTLY the description of a Gemini. So that's all I can go on but even still I wouldn't say that it's absolute. Just interesting.

SpecialK, I'm glad that the advice Honour gave was helpful to you. Along the lines of what WarriorPriestess suggested, I wanted to recommend a site, that's *absolutely* free where you can try as many spreads as you like. Many people that I share it with really enjoy it. If you're interested, I can post the name of it here.

Precisely my point. Suggestion is a powerful force. The media has generated fear over a number. We need to take care with what we put in our minds. You don't believe in it, but it would make you uncomfortable. The power of suggestion at work.

When I was a boy our home telephone number was...666. When the phone rang we would answer it by saying "hello, six, six, six". In the context of what we are talking about now was either hilarious or spooky. There was no church-going in my family and no religious knowledge. It was just a good, short snappy phone number. I had no irrational fears about the number because I had not received that suggestion or programming. I didn't know of such things.

Kikki, in another thread you wrote an excellent response to my question "how do you acquire mental and emotional health?"
"Find a practice which works for you – be it a moment of quiet contemplation first thing in the morning, last thing at night or in the shower; or a more formal approach to meditation and visualisation." I agree with this. I think it is a good practise to actively put healthy thoughts into our minds. Reduce our exposure to "media frenzies" and the like, to take control of what we allow to influence us.

And it is interesting you say meditation and visualisation every morning and every night. I have read many times that psychologists etc claim the best time to influence your sub-conscious mind (emotions, mental health) is in the morning and at night. For the past thirty years my W's "meditation" every morning and every night was to read a "trashy" novel. You only have to dip into those things to see they are not hot on fidelity. Coincidence? Who knows? It probably didn't help.

The point of my post was not to attack stargazer. Not being a skilled writer myself it is not easy to convey one's tone of voice in the written word. My tone was one of concern for stargazer and specialk, I apologise if that didn't come across.

Proof, if proof were needed that I don't convey my tone of voice in my writing: honour is a "he"  :)

Thanks for the apology Honour.  Yes, sometimes it is very hard to convey exactly what we mean here on a message board.  Heck, even IRL sometimes lol.
