Giving up does not always mean that you are weak; sometimes it means you are strong enough to let go.

At the start of this maniacal rollercoaster ride, I made myself a huge playlist on my iPod devoted to songs that just made me feel good...so I have LOTS of suggestions, lol! Another one - and this one was my go-to confidence booster - Aphrodite by Kylie Minogue. http://youtu.be/HShr5XCHe7s

It's funny...I've always been more of a punk, indie and electronica kind of girl, but have found a new appreciation for pop music through all this. Guess it's all a part of MY transition.  :)

A quote from a recovered MLCer:
"From my experience if my H had let me go a long time ago, and stop pressuring me, begging, and pleading and just let go I possibly would have experienced my awakening sooner than I did."

It's funny how the type of music makes each person "feel better"!

Strangely enough, when I am at peace & calm, Blues music is my preference, especially with slide guitar in it. It's one of my favorites to play on guitar as well.

When I am feeling down or angry, I listen to very extreme heavy metal; also while I am working out. I am able to "lose" myself in the intensity of the music and "burn off" whatever bad feelings I might have. All I know is when I am done listening, I always feel better! Fun and intense to play on guitar as well!

End State: I'm glad it is over, for several reasons....too many to list here. I am so much better off and, aside from the great kids we have, regret ever marrying her.

In the beginning, all I could listen to was what I call "angry, white girl music."  For example, Alanis Morrissette - "Jagged Little Pill,"  Kelly Clarkson - "My December," Halestorm - "The Strange Case Of...," Lady Gaga, Adele and anything by Pink!  :D
I also listen to a lot of metal too, believe it or not.  After all, I am a child of the 80's!  :P  LOL  Metallica, of course, duh!  Three Days Grace is heavy on my playlist (Chalk Outline is MY song!).  Rush, Triumph, Skid Row, Foo Fighters, Queensryche....the list goes on and on!!
