Off-Topic Re: Saturday Night Around the LBS's World

Even though it's sunday afternoon here in Australia I spent my saturday night child free, in my PJ's catching up on some TV shows and having some me time.  It's hard to relax these days not just physically but mentally.  I find I'm constantly thinking about H and his MLC so its was nice to have the time to unwind and let go of some of the thoughts.  It helped that h looked dreadful when he picked the kids up (is that really bad to say), helps remind me that this isn't all it's cracked up to be for him and it's not making him blissfully happy like he thought it would.

Enjoy your saturday night everyone and sending Birthday wishes and hugs to standingfromadistance.

Happy birthday standingfromadistance! 8:44 Mountain Time Colorado.  I am watching the first episode of Smash and enjoying it tremendously and will watch episode number 2 as well.

You have a newfie puppy? Goggle about a Newfoundland Dog by the name of Gander. During the second world war he was the mascot for the Royal Rifles of Canada..my dad was in that regiment that fought against the Japanese in Hong Kong...I grew up with great stories about Gander and he was a hero and was awarded a medal by the Canadian government.

My yellow lab Kaci is by my side, I have a fire going and just had some beef bourgignon and garlic bread and peanut butter m&m's.

Xyzcf,
Kaci, beef bourgignon, garlc bread and peanut butter m+m's ? Sounds delish! Add the fireplace and sounds like a very nice night. I will definitely google "Gander the Newfoundland". My newfie is unfortunately in her destructive giant puppy phase!  A sweet and loving dog when I am home but unfortunately a bad case of separation anxiety when I leave the house.  I'm hanging in there however. Hopefully she will settle down as she matures!

Happy birthday standingfromadistance!

I'm late to the party but I spent part of the night with the whole family together and W and I talking about different things.  After she left and took D11 to spend the night with her, S7 and I enjoyed Boy's Night and played video games together until he got too tired and we ended up going to bed early.  He's sick with a cold/ flu something and has been attached to me since I got home.  Nice night, but it would have been better if we had all stayed together.  :(

Ah morning all, last night (having spent the day in a seminar about creating a value based education, then meeting up with D18 and shopping...she stopped me getting a cute ALL Saints miniskirt said it was too short lol) my D's and I had "snacky supper" and watched Casualty ( a bit like like ER was ) .
Snacky Supper was a family tradition that we revived since h moved out, he put a stop to it (control? because it is really unhealthy food, dips, crisps and party food like sausage rolls )we started it again  because I used to take D's to a swimming club. The children missed it. so we thought Why not!
so that  was my saturday night. cosy and indulgent with my D's.

Oooow! I missed this yesterday.

Had an earlyish night as I was tired I am just recovering from a cold too.

Anyway mine was a night in but ended up a bit busy as sons seemed to be in and out a bit, had to wait to get in the shower at one point, youngest got in first but I didnt mind as he was going out and I wasnt.

Went to asda late tea time, had a bit time on here then watched tv with eldest son and our dog. Dog is just amazing often when I have a sad moment he will come to me it is like he knows, he is a giant breed about as big as they get and we love him so much, he just went 9 yrs a few weeks ago so his chewing phase well and truly over but I still have part of the windowsill missing in the kitchen from then. This is the house we lived in untill he was almost 1 yr old and it has been rented out untill now, and I have moved back in with sons. Maybe I will leave the windowsill for memories but think I ought to replace it you can clearly see the teeth marks bless him.

Best of it was when we moved he had stopped chewing, then started again as couldnt get used to the different house (the one we moved from last year) tried to eat a few doors in that one as he was bigger by then. It wasnt his fault he just got himself a bit confused and worried. My worry was the amount of doors he damaged ha!.

Happy Birthday standingfromadistance...

Late here too, but was entertaining S9, S5 and one of S9 friend.  Had a few cocktails myself and crashed but now up since 2am CST...no thanks to wife's MLC of course.  Agree EZ, hard to relax these days physically and mentally here also.  When it is quiet and my wife is at work, trying not to think about her and what she has done/is doing to the family is maddening.  Its like the MLC sitch is a hamster on the wheel and can't get off.  Sure I can find stuff to do for awhile to get my mind off of it but once that is done...it creeps in.  Kind of home bound right now due to finances and personal injury (nothing big, just annoying).  Which makes my "cabin fever" worse.  So hopefully after typing all of this I will be tired and crash again.  So watching one of my fav TV shows...DINERS, DRIVE-INS, and DIVES!  I am going on a road trip!  YUM!

missybuddha - that is funny, I had a "snacky supper" tonight also...wasn't watching my calories (tater tots, chicken nuggets, hot wings).  Yeah, gonna have to watch it for the next few days.

xyzcf - ah, a newfie puppy...that is sweet.  And I thought we were talking about our MLCers being destructive like giant puppies waiting for them to settle down and mature...LOL

Moc, you have good taste in Food Network shows.  D, D and D is one of my favorite shows and we've taken the kids to a couple places featured on there!
