Off-Topic LBS Occupations

I think it is interesting when we learn more about each other. Who knows, it might even help RCR with her research in the future.

Ok, I voted; but trucking was not the occupation I had when my husband was going through his crisis.

I don't know if that would make a difference or not; but I voted anyway. :)

I voted, but went with the job I had for years, the one I went to school to do, and not the job I have now as it is most definitely NOT where my passion lies.   I definitely hope to do something along the same lines as before sooner rather than later.

Ya know, it may mean absolutely nothing really. I am a fan of information. My hunch, from what I have read on the forums, is that there are a number of people in similar professions.

You may have never guessed (considering how my life is constantly falling apart), but I am a counselor. I work as a vocational rehabiliation counselor and all of my clients are legally blind.

Still what kind of counseling do you do?  Is it the kind that helps your clients live on their own and encourages them to be the best they can be?

I'm curious. :)

Yes, exactly. I have an awesome job. I am able to fund vocational training, computer systems, college, home modifications, room/board, residential programming and anything that will help my clients become independent and working. The field has so much technology that there are few jobs that can't be accommodated to some degree (well, except for driving and operating a plane....but we are working on it!).

On the side, I teach online courses in human services. I love that almost as much!

Still,

Thanks for answering my question. :)  It does sound like you've a great job; and it's important to be happy in your work; sounds like you are. :)

Honestly, HB. With the exception of MLC wreaking havoc on my life, I am a very blessed woman.

The pain of all of this sometimes causes me to lose sight of that.
