We are there again. It is tomorrow (Wednesday). Been so busy that I totally forgot it. ::)

In case you haven't guess it, this month the full moon in on the 25th. Yes, Christmas Day. ::) Christmas Eve promises to be interesting. ::)
-
I read that it was a special full moon too, but can't remember why...maybe because it falls on Christmas?
I doubt I will see or hear from mine this year, at least not on Christmas Day.
-
It is a special full moon this December's Cold Moon (Winter Full Moon) falls on Christas Day. Last time the Full Moon was on Christmas Day it was 1977. Next time will happen in 2034.
-
Thanks Anjae :)
Good to be forwarded and aware.
Have a blessed and peaceful Christmas. :)
-
I am hoping that my holiday will be quiet and calm - exH has gone NC on me again ::)
-
I can't wait to see what the moon will be like tonight, last night it was fabulous. It is very, very dark out here in the forest and honestly, it lit up our whole area. You could actually see outside into the woods. It was amazing. I hope the clouds remain few and scattered tonight, as it should be INCREDIBLE tonight.
Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS... everyone!

-
Thank you stayed. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your huge family. : ))
Anj, I can't wait to see the moon tonight. It should be a clear sky here in Minnesota. Fingers crossed!
-
Last night it was really cool - looking forward to tonight.
Funny thing - the full moon has made me feel restless and my sleep is off.
Merry Christmas All!!
-
We do our Christmas on Boxing Day! All our children married men and women from Ottawa. All of them married after we moved to Luxembourg, so rather then overload "Christmas Day" or try to horn in on the inlaws, whose other children lived there as well, it seemed logical to simply choose another day.
Everybody loves it. They now get 3 full Christmas's, hehehe, two on Christmas day... and then our day, on Boxing Day. It's great!
Hugs Stayed
-
stayed, same here. We pick a day when no one HAS to run off somewhere else. We're doing Christmas on the 26th. :)
-
Aren't we clever Thunder? Then the whole day is OUR'S!

We are celebrating this year on Boxing Day as well. We do what works best for all family members. This year it is Boxing Day for us. Here is a first...we had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner on Christmas Day. Hehe. That's a new one!
Mlc (blah) is something we all share on this forum. But today we have something more pleasing and uplifting to share. It's the moon. We all share in this beautiful moon and it feels special. It makes the world feel like a smaller place.
Merry Christmas forum friends.
-
The moon really has been such a great touchpoint, especially today. Something tangible we can all go outside and experience, and know that wherever we are in the world, it's the same moon we're all looking at together. Love you all so much!
Non-traditional meal here too today. Mexican chicken casserole! Quick and easy. The power went out in my neighborhood for about an hour and a half at lunchtime, so I was relieved I didn't have a turkey in the oven.
-
Wow, what a beautiful thought, all of us were looking at this beautiful moon the last two nights. Tonight, we even got a small dusting of snow, but the odd part was, the clouds had literally circled the moon, so it remained completely unblocked and lighting the world. Amazing. It is very comforting to know that so many people I deeply care about, were all watching it as well.
Our power went out for a few hours yesterday. Apparently we got some of the "winds", the very weak ones from the tornado that hit poor Mississippi, terrible, just terrible. Life is so fragile. It makes me wonder why we are so CARELESS with it. :(
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and MiMix, I will be thinking about you, as I prepare our Christmas dinner as well, today. Is hubby attending?
hugs Stayed
-
We got more than a dusting over night and its to continue all day.
Guess I tempted the snow gods. ::)
-
Not even a dusting Thunder! In the brightness of that super Winter Moon, it looked like snow, but was actually just frost. Beautiful day here today. The lake so wants to freeze, obviously the water temp is the same as the air, so as soon as it dips under freezing point, a light skim of ice forms... then as the day sets it melts completely.
They had forecasted a bit of snow for today... but the sky is blue and clear... temp is hugging just above freezing. Quite a beautiful Christmas though, even without the snow!

Yup, hubby came alright. He brought me gifts. He brought everyone gifts. Was so excited to give us gifts. Probably because he got them all on his own...no help from me.
He asked me for my thoughts on some general stuff (looking for validation). I gave him my honest opinion...which pretty much was in line with his thoughts. He explained that others strongly disagreed, did not follow his advice. BIG SHOCK. Like everyone should think like His Royal Highness.
I actually asked him to do some things to help out. He was very willing. He got to experience my elderly moms new neediness and it struck at his very nice compassionate side.
I could write a book but I still don't think I could ever explain this mess to my satisfaction. It's just too weird.
-
Sadly the nights have not been very clear here. But yesterday I managed to see the full moon well for a little while. And tonight it is visible among the cloudy sky.
Mimix, we could all probably right books about this, but never be able to fully explain it to our satisfaction.
-
I'm so pleased your h came and was so very pleasant, prezzies and everything... wow! If only it was understandable eh? Glad you had a nice day. Our's was very successful too. Such a lot of work though for so many people. 22 in total.
Hugs Stayed
-
I totally forgot it is today, the 24th (it is already today here).
-
Full moon tonight!
I didn't realize it until I just saw the moon - I said earlier today that something had shifted, like the planets had aligned. I have had this peaceful shift in myself :) I have had a clear mind and coming up with solutions to problems that I couldn't see before.
-
Nor had I. Must be some strange lunar effect. :)
-
March full moon coming - Wednesday, March 23rd.
Prepare yourselves :)

Does MLC flare up around full moon?!

Does MLC flare up around full moon?!
I'm going to say it probably depends on your mlcer. Mine tends to go into monster mode pretty much at least once during the 10 days or so surrounding the full moon. If it's not monster, he's texting me all his fantasies...and they are some weird ones sometimes. I don't always have anything happen...sometimes his son gets it.
For a while, we could almost predict that one of us would get an exhibit of crazy behavior. He's tamed that down recently, although he just told me on Friday that if I needed money, I could be a hooker...for $100 a time. ::) >:( And then on Saturday, he wanted me to call and read him naughty stories while he was driving...home to ow. ::)
I hadn't had much full moon "entertainment" in the last few months so I hadn't thought of it right away this time. It dawned on me yesterday that I should check when the next full moon was and low and behold...this week. It's crazy!
-
OMG Patience, That is really crazy stuff you poor girl. Thank goodness mine is a vanisher and I don't have to listen to that.. I don't know how I would react.. Take care of you... 😘

Ha! Well, I'm used to the oddball things that come out of his mouth. Knowing him, I'm sure his intent was to make me laugh, which he did, although I did tell him I was worth far more than $100. It was an entertaining discussion. A sense of humor goes a LONG way in this. I mostly just shake my head anymore and wonder how much longer this is going to take. lol

Does MLC flare up around full moon?!
I think the full moon effects a lot of people. I usually realize it is a full moon by people's behaviors before I ever notice the moon :o It starts a day or two before the full moon and can still effect people a day or two after. Ask anyone who has ever worked in an ER room - they get crazy busy during full moons. I worked retail for 20+ years and could see the full moon coming based on behavior - things just get weird.
When it comes to the MLCer, they just get more weird! I had noticed an increase in monster too when I still had contact with my ex.
-
And this full moon comes with a lunar eclipse. ::)
-
And this full moon comes with a lunar eclipse. ::)
:o :o :o Goody!
Or should I say "THAT explains it!" ::)
-
Tonight's the night....the moon sure is pulling on H's monster the closer it gets. Stay strong all...remember grace and love...Lord help me to remember that as well!
-
I have no MLCer around, but I have notice in the last couple of days, when I go for errands and my walks, that drives are nuts. Not stopping at the zebra crossing, driving too fast, even several small clashes.
-
Not sure if it's at the same time on the other side of the globe but we have a full moon tonight and ex has been bananas the last wk or so, didn't even realize the moon thing until last night, l blame the moon.
D's also been having crazy dreams all wk and l said a lot of American friends believe a full moon sends everything off , maybe it's the full moon. l wonder .
-
This full moon has been quite exhausting for me. Little things have been annoying me and I am feeling very emotional. I need some quiet time.
-
The moon is alredy quite full, but it will reach its peak on the 22sd.
-
Thanks for the reminder - I meant to do it earlier today. Ex texted me out the blue and thought "it must be full moon time again" - sure enough.
-
It is tomorrow or today (21), depending where you are.
-
That explains things :o
-
The night of the 20th to 21st of May was the full moon from a purely chronological point of view...
The 19th & 20th were lousy nights for my sleeping.... UGH!
-
I need to start taking pills for memory, I forgot again. It is today/tomorrow, the 20th, depending where you are.
Here the moon is wonderfully full, on a clear full of stars and even a few visible planets on naked eye.
-

As your friendly neighborhood Rocket Scientist.... ;D
the full moon will take place on the 20th/21st, depending on where you are. From a purely orbital standpoint, it is early after midnight on the 21st.
It is also taking place on the same day as the Summer Solstice... this happens approximately once every 70 years. the next time this will happen (Full Moon on the Solstice) will be in 2094 so it is pretty much (for us here) a once in a lifetime event... Maybe our small kids would see it twice.
The planets Jupiter, Saturn and Mars are all visible in the night sky at the moment with Jupiter appearing in the constellation of Leo, Mars in the claw of Scorpio, and Saturn in Virgo
For those so inclined, the full moon is occurring in Gemini which, if you follow such things, adds a whole new set of stresses...
-
I woke up about 4:40 this morning and thought, wow the sun is coming up early, but when I looked outside it was the moon! Biggest, brightest moon ever.
Wish I had gone outside to take a look. I just read your thread so I had no idea this was such an amazing time for the planets, etc..
-
For those so inclined, the full moon is occurring in Gemini which, if you follow such things, adds a whole new set of stresses...
Not that I follow such things, but as a Gemini myself I was curious. What kind of stresses?
-
UM,
Thanks for all the specifics! Very interesting stuff.
I saw the beautiful full moon this morning.
-
I don't know if this means anything yet I just read that near me there is supposed to be a 'rare strawberry moon'. Does it mean anything?

Hi Fade,
I need some of Anjae's memory pills too. The FULL moon is in Sagittarius but the new moon was in Gemini. I'm one too and a friend of mine told me (we haven't talked for about 5 months) that I could expect that hidden truths were going to be laid bare and that things that had been hidden would be brought to light.... Still waiting in a way... He also noted that Saturn in Virgo was taking "a big whack at Geminis lately." I told him without really thinking "Yeah, and it all started in March" to which he replied "Yes, actually it did, in the beginning week. How did ynow
-
Thank you. It is always nice to have friendly neighborhood Rocket Scientist. ;D

It really is a once in a lifetime event. I have been outside, looking at the sky, and saying hello to the Summer. The three planets look great, and the moon is fantastic. I'm fairly sure I will live until I am 120, but 2094 seems like a bit too much to ask for... ::)
I read your post and was wondering, but isn't the full moon in Sagittarius? Memory pills sales are going up in Portugal and Germany. ::) ;D
Strawberry moon did not had a meaning to be, so I looked up on the always helpful Google, "The romantic label was coined by the Algonquin tribes of North America who believed June’s full moon signalled the beginning of the strawberry picking season." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2016/06/19/strawberry-moon-coincides-with-summer-solstice-for-first-time-si/
May full moon was also in Sagittarius. Not entirely sure what it means, but my rising sign is Sagittarius, and I have been feeling happy as a lark since some two or three days ago. The full moon is not upsetting me at all, some how, it seems to be having the exact opposite effect.
The night is magical and enchanted here. The sunset was also beautiful, on one side of the house the sun was disappearing into the Atlantic, on the other the moon was rising, and the night was falling.
On the night of the 23 to 24 we will be celebrating Saint John's night, a Christian adaptation of older/pagan times, that was meant to celebrate Summer solstice. Everyone will go out, eat sardines, pork chops, caldo verde, colourfoul paper balloons will be launched, bonfires lit and even jumped. People will walk around the city until the morning breaks, and the most typical neighbourhoods will have several local parties. It is a great night in to enjoy the city and have fun. :)
-
Thank you Anjae. so that's what it means lol
I do hold the seasons meaning's as important. In my culture science, math and the universe are very important. Our new year was Spring Solace. Enjoy tonight it sounds beautiful.
-
Thank you, Elegance. I will.
-
I don't know if this means anything yet I just read that near me there is supposed to be a 'rare strawberry moon'. Does it mean anything?
Google is your friend.....
Tonight is the Full Strawberry Moon, so called because of the abundance of strawberries around at this time. If you have a lover or a love interest give them roses as this Moon is also known as the Rose or the Love Moon. It is the perfect time to patch up relationships, get married or find a new love. The June Moon is also known as the Honey Moon because it has a slight amber tint to it and it is also a time when bees are at their most active. This is were we get the term 'Honeymoon' a holiday taken after marriage.
Tonight the Full Moon falls on the Summer Solstice. This is a very rare event and will probably only happen once in a lifetime. The Sun is at it's strongest point today and combined with the energy from the Full Moon will make this a potent Full Moon filled with strong energy that can propel us in a new and exciting direction.
The Full Moon is in the sign of Sagittarius which is the sign of truth. Things that were in the dark will now start to come to light, new truths will be revealed. We can look at our lives with more clarity the veil will be lifted. We must also look within ourselves and find our own inner truths. You may experience some restless nights and wild and vivid dreams.
Don't be scared to dream and want for more on this Full Moon, Sagittarius is brave and bold and will give us a boost of courage and ambition. You may feel unstoppable and have a renewed energy. Use this energy to make plans for the future. Be daring and move out of your comfort zone a little, try new things only by doing this can we learn and grow.
This Full Moon will have our emotions on high alert, especially when it comes to matters of the heart. We will be feeling a little fragile at the moment so be kind and gentle with yourself, don't be too self critical, try to stay positive and think about all the good in your life rather than the bad. There may be emotional desire to pack up and go off on an adventure or to visit places that bring up sweet memories.
This Full Moon gives us an opportunity to grow in so many ways and have an epic summer, the earth is full of energy and life now, use these energies to inspire you, be creative and go out into nature for long walks see the beauty all around you and embrace all life has to offer. Let the Sagittarius fires cleanse, heal and energise you.
You are getting a huge blast of positive energy from the Cosmos. Solstices are power days. This is one of the most powerful days of the year. You can feel the shift in your being. The light of the heavens are pouring down into you. Use the light of this Full Moon to find your way home.
Have a blessed Solstice and Full Moon, may God watch over you.
-
Saint Johns night sounds really good fun. I hope you enjoy all the celebrations.
Big hugs
X

Thanks UM, that was beautiful! I really never heard of it before, thought it might have regional meaning somewhere that couldn't really be googled. I'm not one of these lazy non googlers lol
Did anyone in the US see it? I didn't get a good view.

This is from a FakeBook page called "Wicca Teachings" I believe initially

It's true, I always feel the shift. I can see why ancient civilizations built monuments that spoke to the solstice.

Tonight is a New Moon in the constellation of Cancer. There is a wonderful sparkle to this New Moon. Something feels refreshing and even inspiring. Soak in the fabulous energy. Take time to be near water such as a stream, lake, river, waterfall, rain, sea or Ocean. If you are not able to, taking a nice bath with sea salts will do too. It is helpful to attune yourself to the Cancer water element, flow and be. this will refresh, renew, cleanse and heal you.
This New Moon in Cancer speaks of new life. It encourages us to have faith in our potential alongside a deep resolve to ensure that potential is fulfilled. Just as an acorn contains the imprint of the tree it will become, so too do we contain our future selves in a form within us, waiting, slumbering, gestating, until the time is right to come forth into life and purpose.
In the darkness of this New Moon we are invited to dream our future selves into being. This is an intuitive Moon that has so much it wants to share and asks us to be ready to receive It. This New Moon reminds us that no matter how often we may feel the necessary changes are too great for us to implement, the fact is the change has already happened. We are already transformed, we just haven’t realised it yet, it wants us to stop striving now, to relax, be still and recognise the deep peace within, in which our potential is coming forth, it tells us there is nothing to do and nowhere to go. At this moment, right now, we have everything we need to be who we are meant to be. We are already complete.
The New Moon in Cancer is a good time to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Crab. These include honoring our deepest, most irrational and intimate feelings, recognizing the sense of security and safety we need from our homes, jobs, family, partners and friends, allowing ourselves to accept support and offer support to others.
This New Moon you will be feeling deep and raw emotions. Your feelings reveal what you truly love and value. They are your guidance system. Your passion for life is fueled by your feelings. They nourish your creative, artistic and intuitive abilities. In fact, having all the wealth in the world does not matter if you do not feel good. Your feelings count. Trust your emotional instincts on this New Moon. Tap into your deepest darkest feelings for they will reveal who you really are and what you truly want.
Let the waters of Cancer wash over you and cleanse your spirit and soul. Have a Blessed New Moon. May the Goddess watch over you.
-
LOVE this! This one really does feel like a new beginning. Thank you for posting that UM!
-
Strangely enough R2T, for me as well... Don't know WHAT is beginning but it feels that way
-
Beautiful post, Ursa.
It has been a few weeks since I feel something new is beginning. Like Ready2, I do not know what, but something new and good is coming.
The sky was great tonight and the outside in the terrace the energy was very light and inspiring.
But my Cancer mother had to be in a really nasty mode when I talked to her on the phone. Maybe some cancers are poorly affected by this new moon.
-
There we are again. Full moon, Tuesday July 19. ;)
-
There we are again. Full moon, Tuesday July 19. ;)
NO kidding.. The whole "Here we go again" thing is something I can relate to... I'll have to see what tidbits of info I can come up with today... but UGH!
-
I confess that it has been a very long time since full moons bring me any sort of MLCer troubles. But the full can mess with my sleep. The last two ones didn't, but this one is doing it.
Still, a nothing compared with what some LBS have to put up from their MLCers when the moon is full.
This one is in Capricorn. I am a Capricorn, so that may have some meaning and effect. Or not.
-
Here you are - Tonight's Full Moon
Let the love in and let love flow.
This is a healing and almost intoxicating full moon. While at the same time, revolutionary. Instilling us with the urge, to break free. As the revolutionary and bringer of change, the planet of Uranus forms a tense aspect (square) to the moon and the sun. Especially potent, as Uranus is finally free from the difficult square to Pluto, for the first time since 2012 and can now finally initiate sweeping changes unhindered.
Having left the past behind and starting a new chapter, we can now officially spread our wings and fly, as the full moon is supported by a wonderful kite formation with the full moon at the top, the sun in opposition and Chiron, the wounded healer and Mars in Scorpio on either side.
Mars in Scorpio will be giving us extra energy and drive after he has been locked in a stationing position the past two weeks, making him extremely simmering and broody, with many of us feeling the effects on a personal level as well as a global level.
Mars too now is breaking free, picking up speed and will enter the lighter, optimistic Sagittarius on the 2 August.
After a very intense phase the past few weeks, with Mars in Scorpio bringing deeply buried and hidden issues to the fore. Revealing certain truths since the last new moon, often involving power struggles and anger, we can now move forward and heal, as Chiron the wounded healer is making a powerful healing aspect to Mars, healing and soothing the turbulence of the recent weeks.
It’s time now, to start relaxing and having fun. As Mercury and Venus are now in the playful, joyful and fun-loving sign of Leo. It’s time to celebrate our inner joy and our inner child. It’s by keeping our inner child alive that we stay happier, healthier and younger.
Mercury in Leo is encouraging us to creative self-expression of our passions and our hearts. It’s time to have fun, to shine our light and to be unapologetically who we authentically are. Together with Leo in Venus, they are fun-loving, generous, open-hearted and entertaining. Bestowing us with an enormous power to co-create and communicate our needs in our relationships, in art and our careers. Its a wonderful time to find new love, as well as enjoying a new high, in current relationships.
With a touch of drama and exhibitionism its time to take centre stage and show the world what you are made of and shine your light. Leo loves luxury and extravagance, and it wouldn’t harm to indulge and spoil yourself a little.
Projects and relationships started now, have a good chance of long-term success and endurance. As Saturn is making a supporting trine to Mercury and Venus in Leo.
Venus and Mercury are communicating the message of love that will culminate on the full moon, 18th August, with another Venus-Mercury conjunction that will be at the top (apex) of a rare finger of God, as well as an eclipse. This will usher us into the next stage of our evolutionary development with love being the main theme.
The sun in Cancer is shining a light on the full moon in Capricorn, giving us deeper insights into our emotional world.
The moon represents our deepest emotions and our inner child. The moon is the ruler of cancer and is bringing to light how we take responsibility (Capricorn) for our emotional needs as well as those of others.
Both Cancer and Capricorn are very sensitive and often hide their vulnerability behind their protective cover. Cancer, the crab, often taking refuge beneath his hard shell and Capricorn often builds defensive walls around his sensitive heart.
Both the sun and the moon are square the revolutionary Uranus that wants to break down the walls that we have built around us. Rendering us unable to let love in and letting love flow freely. As well as tearing down the walls of limiting beliefs, fear and of not feeling worthy of love. Uranus ultimately wants to set us free, by opening our hearts
Only then can we can plug into the love that is all around us, as well as draw on the higher cosmic love, that deep down we know we are all connected too.
The Capricorn moon is helping us to build emotional strength and inner peace and security.
Capricorn often takes on to much responsibility, and duty while cancer loves to nurture, love and take care of others while often forgetting their own needs. We need to be aware of how there is an imbalance as the full moon is a time of balancing out and integrating the two opposites.
Capricorn brings up themes of how we are dedicated and committed to, the people we love, as well as to our creativity, talents and passions in life. It is only with dedication and commitment that we can build a solid foundation with lasting endurance for what matters to us most in life
A square from Saturn to the nodes of fate and to Neptune are bringing themes of truth and delusion to a culmination. Past events and choices we have made, will reveal themselves as either having substance and truth, or as delusion and lies. We have a choice, whether to stay in delusion or to wake up to the truth. We need to take responsibility for, as well as question our own inner reality that ultimately reflects how we see and perceive the reality of the outside world.
With the ongoing Saturn-Neptune square for most of the year, we need to try constantly to discern between the truth and delusions.
After waking up to the truth, the revolution is here. And it’s up to us to choose love over hate, hope over fear, unity over division, compassion over indifference, integrity over Ego.
It’s a choice we are making to choose the message of love and open-heartedness over fear, hate and building inner and outer walls.
“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.”- Dalai Lama
Capricorn represents power and cancer love. It’s about believing in and learning that there is no greater force than the power of love.
“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace,” -Jimi Hendrix.
-
And here is the other interpretation:
Tonight is The Full Stag Moon, so called because young male stags will start to grow their antlers at this time. It is also called the Thunder Moon because of the thunder storms brought on through the hot and humid air.
Change or be changed is the message of this Full Moon. Since the Summer Solstice you should have felt a sense of something shifting both within yourself and with the outside world, this is because we have crossed a line. The first half of the year is over. We have now entered the second half of the year. This a good time to look back over the last 6 months and look at what you have learned, what you have lost and what you have gained. Take lessons from what you have learned good or bad and use them in your future endeavors whether this be in work, relationships or family.
Tonight's Full Moon is in the constellation of Capricorn, Things could get interesting, to say the least, This is an atmosphere ripe for outbursts that are highly emotional. Emotions could hit extremes of both highs and lows and everything in between, with quick, inexplicably loony shifts. We may find ourselves in a mood for no reason one minute then happy for no reason the next. Don't worry this will pass.
The Capricorn Full Moon will give us strength to work out what we need to work out in our lives, now is the perfect time to look into work or finances. A good saying is 'The harder I work, the luckier I get' which is the Capricorn motto. If there are any jobs that you have been putting off do them now, if you want to give up a bad habit use the energy of this Moon to do it. Look into money making projects it may be a promotion at work or a project you could start that will bring financial rewards. Many people call this the 'Money Moon' because it has the potential to bring you wealth or extra income.
Tonight's Full Moon will be about building foundations for the future, to make ourselves feel more secure in our surroundings and financially. We can only be happy when we feel safe and secure in our own homes and environment. Be ambitious, go for what you want or put plans into place to get what you want in the future. Be braver, be bolder. You will have an inner strength now that will pull you through anything that comes up against you.
Capricorn is the zodiac’s worker sign, the noble protector and soldier. Be your own hero, be a soldier, tackle any problems head on, deal with anything that has been bugging your life, get to grips with what is holding you back, break down walls and barriers that are stopping you from moving forward.
Use the energy of this Full Moon to heal your spirit. Soak up the intensified energy of the Earth and let it cleanse you.
-
I took a picture of the full moon rising yesterday... lovely picture.
Then, I went home to cook a meal and do some household chores before getting to bed - who said I slept? The moon was so bright that it disturbed my sleep ::) Maybe it didn't like having its picture taken earlier.
Then one of our dogs who was kept confined to the kennel decided to howl the better part of the night.
I kept getting up and going to an open window to hiss at the dog to shut up >:(
Full moons, bah!!
-
Ok, that explains why my animals were in a tizzy last night, too, Mitzpah! I usually observe the emotional and esoteric meanings, but I forget all living creatures seem to have a tie to the physical ebb and flow, too. Was a rough night with feline Jeckyls and Hydes waking me up fighting with each other and attacking me. ::)
Beautiful words, Ursa. My xH is a Cappy. Let's hope it sparks some movement in that goat to look within!

Just stopping by to say hello...

Thought I would share this website where they have a 3-minute full moon ritual (updated every month), http://mooncircles.com/3-minute-moon-ritual/
Helps me ground myself when things get a little wonky.
-
Thank you for posting that HP.
-
Beautiful words, Ursa. Thank you for the ritual, handpuppets.
The moon is still upsetting my sleep. Maybe in a couple of days or so, all will again be smooth, sleep wise.

Beautiful words, Ursa. Thank you for the ritual, handpuppets.
The moon is still upsetting my sleep. Maybe in a couple of days or so, all will again be smooth, sleep wise.
Last night was awful... I had a very difficult time just getting to bed. Oddly enough, the previous 2 nights (Sunday and Monday) were OK... In addition to that, doggie has been restless the last couple of nights too...
-
The moon is not stressing or enervating me, like some previous ones have. I am not agitated. Very calm, in fact. It is just that it does not allow me to sleep. I get to bed, I get all comfy and sleepy, then nothing. No sleeping.
Hopefully, it will soon pass. :)
-
I'm not sure what's going on I had such a meltdown the other day I ended up in bed after taking a med to calm me down. Cold cloths on my forehead and the back of my neck. I've had a few things going on but I really had no clue I'd deal with that kind of backlash.
I sleep fine.
The moon? ???
-
Yes, maybe the moon. Or you were too tired. The moon can add to the tiredness. Sleep a few hours last night. Lest see how it goes today.
-
There was a lot I was trying to deal with at once. Some loose ends (which have been resolved) and I had to attend something pretty emotional. Concerns about my cat. Took him to the vet. He's ok.
I have talked to people who say they don't sleep as well during the full moon. I don't think I ever really had that problem. But maybe the quality wasn't as good.
Interesting Ready2Transform I saw a friends cat attack her. Drew blood and everything. There was no provocation for it. Never saw anything like that. The cat practically flung itself at her. I mean the vocalizations coming out of this animal were unreal.
-
Glad to know your cat is ok. Too many things at once, having to go to something emotional and full moon can leave one exhausted.
This full moon has been strange for me. The irritation or discomfort some full moons brings is not present, but the sleep does not come. I suppose the moon is going to have to wane at some point to reach the new moon.
-
I'm glad your cat is ok too, In It! Having been attacked unexpectedly by a cat I had a very long time ago, I hope your friend is alright. It's a jarring experience. Things definitely starting to calm down here, which is a relief.
-
She's ok..she said she looks at him differently now.
Thanks Anjae I'll keep that in mind. Be kind to you and rest. It must be awful to not be able to sleep.
-
Hi Anjae,
The moon should be visibly waning Friday night or Saturday... Last night when I was out it was just a sliver away from full and if you weren't really looking for the full disk, you might not have even noticed... I too had the hardest time coming to rest last night... and had a very odd dream to boot so ...
It will get better...
-
It was better last night. Not much sleep, but deeper and more restoring. Yesterday I did not notice it, but today I saw it was not longer completely full. What a relief.
-
It must be a relief. Anjae you poor woman ..do you go through this every month?
When I went to the hypnotist she said every hour of sleep you can get before midnight is like getting two.
So some days when I think I'm sleep deprived I'm probably really not. I've found the best way I have been able to escape most of the stress and heal the trauma is sleep.
-
No, not every month, In It. But often. It seems I become too sensitive to the full moon.

Tonight is the New Moon in the constellation of Leo.
We welcome this shift of creative and passionate energy that this New Moon will brings us!
The Leo New Moon is about power, it is about taking control of our lives and pushing ourselves further than we thought we could go, true power is living and acting from who we really are and what we really want. When we express our passions and our joys without apology or fear we are being our true self and this is where happiness comes from, don't hold back. Be creative and let your creative juices flow, take a walk on the wacky side of life and get out of your comfort zone. If you stay in the same place and keep doing the same things you will never move on from where you are.
All the inner work you have focused on this year will now be the foundation for bringing more power, love and energy into your life in this forward moving period. Leo is about leadership, when the Moon is in this constellation sign it means standing in the center and receiving all the universe is ready to gift you, so you can then open your hands and your heart and take your universal gifts. This is a particularly lucky New Moon, so don't be afraid to go for the things you want, lady luck is shining on you right now.
Leo is the sign of ambition so think big and dream big as this New Moon is going to give you much needed energy and a boost of luck, so go for things you may not have had the courage to go for before, push your boundaries a little and ask for more.
This New Moon we will be feeling emotional as fiery Leo brings with it strong passion and intense feelings. Our smallest emotions can feel magnified, don't repress these emotions, let them out, feel them and use them to guide you as our emotions are our truths.
On this New Moon we can truly bring in change, and transform ourselves to be who we want to be, we will feel braver and more confident than usual. Luck will be on your side, we will have renewed energy to complete tasks and get things done. The fire of Leo is burning brightly now, let the flames cleanse your spirit and burn away any negativity. Be positive and open yourself up to allow the good to come in to your life.

I find the one site rather .... interesting as it does fit in with a lot of what I (and apparently lots of other LBS'ers) are going through at the moment, even if it is totally generically written... Things like

Be creative and let your creative juices flow, take a walk on the wacky side of life and get out of your comfort zone. take on an extra significance when one has consciously been DOING inner (read "mirror") work since ABD (for me just before Christmas so really since the beginning of this year) and, if one reads a positive and supportive message into this, well, that can not be a bad thing, right?
Whether one believes in it or not is not a relevant point of discussion but when things like this catch our attention and they reinforce what we feel within ourselves, then the subconscious also gets reinforced with a positive message. This then translates into positive energy within our lives... and growing forward is always good, regardless of where we are int eh journey...
-
Thanks, Ursa. I am actually liking this New Moon energy. Quite vibrant.

Thanks, Ursa. I am actually liking this New Moon energy. Quite vibrant.
For me it is just weird... VERY strange dreams last night... again... Full moon and New Moon seem to be triggers for very vivid dreaming on my part... But, I can see the energy thing too... 2 days until vacation and today, I woke up (or rather crawled out of bed) with a very different feeling than the past while... almost a palpable release of tension... If I could just figure out WHICH tension has been released, it would be awesome...
-
If I could just figure out WHICH tension has been released, it would be awesome...
It would. You're going on holidays in a couple of days, hope that helps a little with the remaining tension.
The new moon energy is still pretty cool for me.
-
We are nearly there again, Full Moon August 18.
-
I'll see what words of wisdom I can dig up....
-
Not digging the full moon vibe 😕
-
This time I am quite fine with it. Ursa still hasn't come up with his usual words, but this moon is in Aquarius. I my natal moon is in Aquarius. Maybe that is why I am finding this moon so comfortable and friendly. I even went and walk under it and felt light and wonderful.
And maybe it is the moon, because I went back to enjoy going to the bookshop and buy books. :)
-
My "normal" source for the full moon musings hasn't put anything out but I did find th efollowing:
THe August Full Moon is called the Sturgeon (after the fish), Corn or Grain moon as it is indicative of the harvest that will soon begin....
==================================
Occurring a day before the next eclipse season begins (19th August – 23rd September), this Full Moon is an ‘almost-but-not-quite’ lunar eclipse, giving it greater influence and a stronger ‘edge’ against which to hone our awareness. Eclipse seasons are powerful things, to be honoured with our full attention, deepest respect and steadfast commitment to respond to their gifts and graces, challenges and obstacles. They kick-start otherwise lagging change, up-turn certainties and awaken issues and themes which shape the following six months. If we pay attention during these times we may well discover the deepest truths of our lives and receive the most influential and personal guidance. Think of them as a cosmic crash course in what our life is really about, minus all the fluff and bluster we add to it on a daily basis! For this reason, a Full Moon occurring just prior to the beginning of an eclipse season is of particular note, for it comes as a wake-up call that something of great import is in the air. If this Full Moon closely aspects a natal planet we may well experience it as carrying much of the power and potential of an eclipse even though it doesn’t quite ‘make the grade’ in that respect. In any event, this Full Moon raises issues which will impact the coming eclipse season and offers guidance to bear in mind throughout the coming weeks.
In Aquarius, it illuminates mental habits and unconscious tendencies which keep us stuck in rigid patterns of thought, belief and behaviour. If we’ve been wondering why we can’t seem to get it together and do what’s needed to make that long overdue change, it reveals how we keep ourselves in chains, blinkered to truths just outside our awareness and mired in self-sabotage. It may be a rude awakening, especially if the stark lunar light reveals it is we who have painted ourselves into a corner, not external circumstances conspiring against us. Whilst such insights are a bitter pill to swallow, this is just the first stage: a nudge from the universe to embrace our past selves, not chastise them. Self-blame will get us nowhere, so whatever comes to light around the time of this Full Moon must be met by a gentle and loving heart, not a hardened and critical one.
This Moon may come with loneliness, a sense of being misunderstood. If we can resist taking things too personally it will go a long way to not letting these feelings rule the day and create mountains out of molehills! There’s a fair bit of tension around and many will be feeling it, so cutting each other (and ourselves) some serious slack is good advice! If possible, avoid heated topics of debate and focus on things that unite rather than divide, otherwise it may be all too easy to slip into overzealous championing of our own perspective without any due consideration of someone else’s view. Conflict seeded now may grow at an alarming rate, producing painful fruit in September when we have two eclipses and the next exact conjunction between Uranus and Eris. However, this Full Moon potentises all efforts made to calm troubled waters, expand our perspective and foster connections that nourish rather than polarise, enabling meaningful interactions with others despite any difficult circumstances.
Uranus, ruler of Aquarius, shapes this Moon. Offering the opportunity to break free from old ties and reinvent ourselves, it reminds us nothing is set in stone as long as we seek always to release that which binds us in the very moment it does so. Not a week, a month, or years down the line, but immediately – freeing past pain, old beliefs and habits, behaviours that sabotage us and conditions that keep us stuck. Sometimes we have to dig deep, working long and hard to let go, but throughout the coming eclipse season we have a precious opportunity to release, moment by moment, whatever holds us back. Practice not allowing anything to stick in your energy field. Visualise it as flowing water, rushing wind. See its constant motion. By identifying with the trials of life, buying into their drama instead of claiming our freedom, we create substance where movement should be, calcifying thoughts and feelings unnecessarily. Recognising and reversing this process is key to profound and lasting change.
The mind is both our liberator and our jailer now. If we allow it to oppress us with demands for ever greater ‘proof’ of this or that, evermore detail to justify what we know instinctively to be true, we will tie ourselves in mental knots that drain our energy and produce no useful outcomes. But if we can expand our mind to embrace possibilities previously discounted, to consider life from new angles, we could experience liberation like never before. The veils between the egoic and higher minds are paper thin now and we can break through so easily, with just the slightest effort, if we choose. However we feel at this juncture, we can rest assured there are new perspectives just waiting to be seen, something we simply haven’t perceived about our situation which can revolutionise the path ahead.
We may, however, be too distracted to take ourselves in hand. An accumulation of stress and anxiety, despair or depression – even the tedious boredom of a life lived in black and white – can all keep us from recognising the power of the present moment and the alchemical force unleashed when we live it fully and without regret. We may have invested too much energy in anticipation of an ideal future when everything magically falls into place, not realising the magic is us, living on purpose, with clear intent and for the greater good right now. This Moon has little time for fears and failings, excuses and justifications. It simply wants us to get a grip and move ahead by arriving fully in the present, with our power intact and our resolve firm and clear.
If we find ourselves resistant at this Moon, wrestling with external pressures that threaten to change our course, discernment is vital. We cannot and do not live apart from the world and must attend always to the constant feedback loop which occurs between us and our environment both near and far. Sometimes we must stand firm in the face of external pressures. At other times those very pressures are the touch of the divine reminding us we may be losing our way, drifting off track or blind to something we cannot afford to ignore. If resistance energises and clarifies intent, it is probably keeping us on track. If it drains us and destroys our peace, distracting from positive action which could blow the cobwebs away, we may well be resisting the very thing that will set us free.
Beware the seduction of certainty in the face of current confusion. It can only ever be a thin veneer atop an infinitely complex existence beyond anyone’s power to fully understand. Knowing it’s okay not to know, being at peace with paradox, embracing with an open heart all insights gleaned, even that we’ve been wrong all along: these are important elements of our preparation for the weeks ahead. Avoid the tendency to act out rather than turn within. Many people are feeling over-stimulated mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. It would be easy to take our stress out on the people around us now, but every moment in which we soften around the tension, turn toward another not away from them, seek common ground not battleground, is a blessing bestowed upon the world around us.
This isn’t an ‘easy’ Moon, but it is a liberating one for sure, with gifts galore for all who commit to seeing life through fresh eyes, not allowing the tyranny of a ‘tried and tested’ past to jeopardise a creative and fulfilling future. If, however, we give in to lethargy that says ‘nothing ever really changes, life’s just too much trouble and anything else is wishful thinking’ then the coming eclipse season may have to jolt us rudely awake, compelling us to live life on purpose ‘or else’! The changes approaching now require bold commitment and creative courage which seeks new solutions to old problems and dares to challenge the very foundation of our life. The choice is leap now or be pushed later. But either way we have to shift at some point!! This Moon says best get it on with it, for it’s simply no longer an option to continue standing still

The other one that is not so long:
The August 18th Full Moon in Aquarius is getting ready to bring about the end of a cycle that started back in March 2016.
This cycle would have impacted everyone differently but at the root of it all, this cycle was about clearing out the old so the new could emerge.
In many ways, this cycle was about combing through the cobwebs of your past to breakdown what is serving you and what is holding you back.
This would have been felt most strongly through the retrograde energy, which was at its peak from April to July.
During this time you would have been guided by the Universe to go within and really work out what it is that you truly desire for yourself.
You may have also discovered that your body was extremely sensitive during this time and may have started speaking or communicating with you through physical symptoms.
This cycle may have also presented fears that needed to be released and creative insights or energy that needed to be explored.
As you can see, there has been so much unfolding through this amazing cycle, but now it is time to say goodbye to this energy and welcome in the new.
For much of the year it may have felt like you were taking one step forward and ten steps back. You may have felt like you weren’t really getting anywhere or that you had no desire to make changes.
All of this is falling away now and the August Full Moon will bring one of the most climactic endings to this cycle.
Whatever this cycle needed to teach you, whatever lessons or journey you have been on since March, will finally come to a head on the Full Moon.
During this time you may feel a sense of completion or a desire to wrap up lose ends. You may even receive some sort of closure that you have been looking for since earlier this year.
August’s Full Moon is extremely potent and will be illuminating all of the lessons that you have needed to learn on your journey so far.
It will also help to bring forth a powerful realisation and feeling of gratitude about just how far you have come and where you are heading.
Old patterns and habits that no longer serve you will be swept away, and the Universe will be gearing you up to launch into a new cycle.
After the Full Moon, the sacred bridge or portal between the old and the new is going to open.
-
Thanks UM, it's interesting and I do believe there is something in all this. I have a friend who is very interested in the moon cycles and tells me that by Christmas this year, we should all see changes in our MLCers - BIG ONES! 2017 is going to be a much better year according to all she tells me. I also have information about the portal opening and I try to understand but it is extremely complicated stuff and maybe I'm just not evolved enough to understand it fully.
-
Very interesting stuff UM - thanks for sharing.
This has definitely not been an 'easy' moon for me. I have a lot of anxieties at the moment - this is to be expected as I am in escrow buying a house that I really like but the last day or two I have felt it very challenged with my own thoughts and beliefs. Things that I am aware of but not resolved/healed. I figured this was all due to the added stress of escrow but I felt it was more than that - then I realized that there was a full moon!
-
Finally, my normal source postedTonight is the Full Corn Moon named because this is a time of the corn harvests. The August Full Moon is also known as the Sturgeon Moon because this was the time when wild sturgeon and Salmon would be abundant in rivers and streams. At this time our emotions will be heightened, our senses will be sharp, things that were hidden or in the shadows can now be seen.
If you have been feeling stuck in a situation or that everything has been standing still lately, get ready because this Full Moon will be bringing with it a wind of change. The whole of earth is going through a massive transition at the minute, Summer is fading and Autumn is coming in, leaves are starting to change colour and falling from trees, plants and flowers are dying and seeding the earth for next Spring. But at the same time crops in fields are flourishing with the harvest, fruit is now at it's most ripest. We will feel this energy of transformation, we should use it to help transform and shape ourselves into what we want to be.
The Full Moon is in the sign of Aquarius. The time is potent to follow our hearts and to create new pathways. We have shed our skin, now is the time to emerge and start turning the visions we have of ourselves into something real. There will be some deep emotional changes happening now, don't fight them, let them come to the surface we must move with the changes, allow what wants to come forth, and trust our inner knowing and guidance.
Your enthusiasm, idealism and creativity will be at an all time high. You will be bursting with new ideas and energy. You could have sudden insights into the future and where it is you are going. Dreams will be wild and vivid and could even be prophetic. You can move from a breakdown to a breakthrough now. You are experiencing a transformation in consciousness, big changes are coming.
Sometimes your growth can feel weird and strange when you are no longer connecting to your past. But truly, the old way of living no longer works for you. You are experiencing new aspects of yourself and life. You are giving birth to the new you, and giving birth is painful. This is real work. This is real growth. There is so much to celebrate right now. Realise that to live out new, promising visions there's a need to restructure and grow. A new vision of the future will be illuminated, it is up to you what you do with it.
Most of all tonight's Full Moon will be about healing. Let the winds of the Aquarius air sign blow away your negative thoughts and feelings and take you on a journey of discovery. Let go of the past and welcome in the future. This is the harvest and it is time to start reaping what we have sown, your hard work will start paying off. Take the gifts life offers you and make the most of them.
Have a Blessed Full Moon,
-

Totally feeling what's quoted above. Letting the winds blow away my negative thoughts and feelings... making the most of what gifts life has to offer.

Thank you for your words, Ursa.
So far, this moon has been easy for me. I even sleep like a rock. But there truly something new in the air. There is a different, better energy.
I have a friend who is very interested in the moon cycles and tells me that by Christmas this year, we should all see changes in our MLCers - BIG ONES! 2017 is going to be a much better year according to all she tells me.
Well, on that case, I will be looking forward to see those big changes in our MLCers. I hope they are good changes. I think we all had enough of less than good changes in our MLCers. ::) Also truly hope 2017 is a much year for us all.
-
I will have to read your post more carefully; all I know is if this is supposed to be an energising moon then it's passing me by..... slept worse than I have in ages yesterday, and the days leading up to it haven't been good either...
and we all know how lack of sleep affects everything, it's actually made me stop dead on many things, knowing that I can't give them full or proper attention, and that in turn causes it's own trouble. Horrible circle.
there are external stresses (and not even to do with MLC....), it would be tempting to blame it all on the moon.....
but reflection is the order of the day; perhaps I am just so sick of uncertainty in so many areas, who knows.
-
Wow Ursa, the second one - easy read - very much resonated on me.
Thanks for posting these.
Last night I was with 6 other women, - we started a sister circle 2 months ago - we went to a park, made a campfire, and we talked about this full moon and how it works on us in our lives. We all felt lots of softness and gentleness around us. It was so nice to do that in the light of the full moon.
-
For those that follow the stars....
WARNING!
Get ready for the Mercury Retrograde. This is a time when Mercury seems to be spinning backwards. Mercury rules communication, technology, clear thinking, truth and travel, so when the planet goes retrograde, which means that it looks like it’s spinning backwards in the sky, all those things go backwards. They start to get ugly and tangle up.
It’s like everyone you know has suddenly gone mad! You might find yourself getting into bizarre arguments about nothing at all, being unable to finish sentences or barely even able to form a coherent thought. Your computer and other electronic equipment is more likely to break. You could experience travel delays too.
Note from UM - sounds like MLC'ers live permanently under a retrograde Mercury!
The retrograde will be from August 30th - September 22nd. So be prepared!
-
And tonight is the New Mon....
Tonight is a New Moon in the constellation of Virgo. The earth is going through a major transition at the moment, dark is taking over light, cold is taking over warmth, death is taking over life as we speed into Autumn. We will be able to see and feel these energies all around us. We can also use these energies of transformation to become what we want to be, to shed our skin and start a fresh and make changes that will improve our lives.
With this New Moon we are essentially working on a blank canvas where our ideas can gestate into reality. We can create the world around us and shape our futures to what we want, we just need to be willing to put in the work. All work done around the Virgo New Moon will pay off and give big rewards. The Virgo New Moon brings attention to the details and listening to your conscience or rather the wise voice from inside. Look deep within yourself and ask yourself what it is that will make you happy, what will make you feel whole.
Now is the perfect time to push ourselves and to get things done, make lists of tasks and tick them off one by one. Virgo is the worker sign and you will get great pleasure from getting jobs done. Do work on your home or start a new project or hobby. There is nothing better than working hard on something, seeing the results and reaping the rewards of your labour. You can also strengthen your financial foundation. Set your intention for a financial increase this Autumn. Think big and dream big.
Virgo rules awareness of the body and mind, making full use of resources, attention to details, organisation, self-preservation skills, order, and critical thinking. Virgo sees flaws in systems, whether those systems are our daily routines, the methods we work with on our jobs, our relationships, or our bodies. Striving for perfection can be a wonderful thing, as long as we don’t allow ourselves to become overly focused on flaws and make ourselves feel guilty or stressed about them. Forgive yourself and others for not being perfect, no one is.
This New Moon is a time for a deep cleansing, to get rid of clutter not just in the home but your emotional clutter. Let the power of the dark Moon cleanse your spirit. Let earth sign Virgo heal you both physically and emotionally. Move to a place of allowing and acceptance. Set your intention for what you want to create this fall. Stay out of negative thinking. Instead ask, ‘What supports my balance?‘ Don’t project out into the future. You are not there yet. You can scare yourself with the ‘What if’s.’ Stay present. The past is history, the future is a mystery, the present is the gift. Your power and effectiveness are in the here and now.

Retro Mercury and New Moon. ::) That is an odd combination. Retro Mercury brings back things from the past, New Moon means new beginning and new things. And, yet, one cannot start or get into new things during a Retro Mercury.
So, I think the new things will be the old things in a new way.

And, just to add insult to injury, there was also a solar eclipse last night....

Uhmmmmmm.... I think I'd rather have a root canal... :-X :P

Re: the Solar Eclipse:
The New Moon solar eclipse at 9 degrees Virgo on the 1st September, 09:01 UTC
Eclipses are the most powerful transits that you can experience. They herald major beginnings and endings, burning and purifying.
Solar Eclipses tend to create new beginnings and bright new opportunities.
Usually, they are exciting, are often very positive, and bring news out of the blue.
This Solar Eclipse in Virgo is immensely significant, the major activity cycle for 2016 begins now. The North Node and Virgo-Jupiter are highly active.
We have been building up and preparing for this event of the New Moon Solar Eclipse and the month of September all year!
We are about to be rapidly transported onto the next level of our evolutionary development.
We have two powerful eclipses back to back in September. The Solar eclipse on the 1st September and a Lunar eclipse on the 16th September. NOTE from UM - The Lunar eclipse coincides with the full moon on the 16th as well...
We will all feel the effects of the two eclipses but even more so if you have personal planets in your horoscope that are directly aspected by the eclipse.
Eclipses can uproot us, surprise us, and get us moving. They shake us up so that we can move from one level of maturity to another, to a higher plane, very rapidly. Eclipses want us to change, and change we do!
Anything that we have been holding onto that no longer serves our highest purpose will fall away during the two eclipses in September. Wheter that be people, circumstances or limiting and negative patterns of thinking and behaving.
A Solar Eclipse happens when the Earth, Moon and Sun are perfectly aligned in a straight line and Moon covers the Sun’s centre, leaving the Sun’s visible outer edges to form a “ring of fire” or around the Moon.
The moon is in the heart of the Sun. The Sun is burning away and purifying everything that no longer serves our highest good.
The eclipse is burning away self-doubt and delusions. You will know what is right and what is good for you.
It is a powerful inner purification of Matter, Consciousness and Spirit.
The Sun is our conscious sense of self, our sense of life purpose, our will and our ability to radiate our essence. The Moon is our feelings, our memory, our needs, and our personal access to our creative source and our unconscious.
When the Moon obscures the Sun, as in a Solar Eclipse, it allows something from the unconscious to leak out past the brilliant light of the conscious self.
The eclipse can provide the necessary catalyst to overcome a circumstance, obstacle (Saturn) or illusion (Neptune)
Any last baggage has to go. We need to travel light as our new path is unfolding, we need to be prepared. We will be rapidly pushed along in a new direction, to our higher path and consciousness. Leaving the past and the old ways behind forever.
Our lives will then rapidly move forward, carrying us to the next level. And to a new and better way of relating to love, to our relationships and to free ourselves of Self-limiting beliefs.
We have the opportunity to burn away old karma in love and dysfunctional patterns forever.
This is heart opening energy
The eclipse happens at the same time as one of the best aspects of the year, Jupiter Conjunct Venus in Virgo.
This eclipse is under the best possible influences promising us success, happiness, growth and abundance whatever occurrences and changes may happen in September.
Jupiter and Venus are at their closest now and won’t be this close again until 2065. So the energy is extremely strong and significant.
Mercury, the ruler of the eclipse, is conjunct Jupiter and Venus.Jupiter expands everything it touches, expanding our capacity to feel joy, love and happiness and bringing good vibes, joy, love abundance and wisdom.
Jupiter is expanding our consciousness and our hearts.
We are essentially reaping the rewards in September for all our hard won efforts, spiritually, physically and materially in September.
Mercury turns retrograde on the 30th August until the 22nd September.Mercury governs our rational mind and communication. Mercury retrograde helps us to turn inward and reflect. Conjunct Jupiter and Venus we are able to access inner wisdom and joy.
The Mercury retrograde will give us a chance to rethink and revalue the path we are on, so that any doubts we may have through the September eclipse season about where we are heading and our life’s purpose, will become clearer to us by the end of September.
Chiron, the wounded healer, is in opposition to Jupiter and Mercury, we can gain much healing, insight wisdom and love during the retrograde period, helping to confirm that we are on the right path, as much will be changing fast and rapidly during the September eclipse period.
Chiron the Shaman and wounded healer is also in Pisces, in exact opposition to Jupiter. Jupiter is on a mission to find the truth. Healing is to be found in the truth.
We will feel clearer, more positive and self-confident about any major decisions or changes to be made by the end of September when Mercury turns direct.
And ultimately we are being guided towards a higher conscious state, higher forms of love and happiness in our lives.
Indeed, with Mars in Sagittarius exactly square the nodes of fate on the day of the retrograde 30th August, we are being pushed to evolve and step up to our life’s purpose and path whether we are ready or not.
The new moon and sun in Virgo are in opposition to Neptune in Pisces. Highlighting The Virgo- Pisces Axis.which symbolises is the connection between Mind, Body and Spirit.
The Virgo Solar Eclipse brings to light any shadow Virgo issues of perfectionism or self-doubt that get in the way of giving our gifts to the world, with fear often being behind these thoughts. The Virgo part of all of us is learning to understand perfection as a process and practice, not an result, and the best way to perfect our skills is to use them. Start where you are, take the first small step, and then the next step will become clear.
When Virgo spends to much time in her mind, she loses her connection with her emotions, Soul and Spirit, leading to anxiety and excessive worrying that can have mental and physical effects. Between the need to let go of knowing every last detail and learn to accept what is, as it is. Until the analytical Virgo learns to see the bigger picture to trust and go with the flow, they will not be able to live a balanced life.
Watch out for any major insights, opportunities, developments or meetings with significant new people or from the past throughout September, but especially on the 4th September, when the Sun in Virgo meets up in an exact conjunction with the the north node of fate at 12 degrees Virgo.
Saturn in Sagittarius is helping us to master, focus with perseverance and staying power our minds, talents, skills, healing powers and techniques (Virgo). While Mars manifests and puts them into action.
With Mars and Saturn in Sagittarius the teacher of knowledge and wisdom, Virgo and Neptune the healer and the spiritualist, conjunct the nodes of fate, many feel called to the teaching, healing and spiritual professions at this moment in time.
Mars in the fire sign of Sagittarius is breaking through all limitations and Jupiter and Venus shining brightly and visibly to the naked eye currently in the night sky, its time to ignite your inner fire, for a renewed passion for life!
Mars in Sagittarius is about to make a positive aspect (trine) to the revolutionary planet of Uranus and Eris the awakener, both in Aries the middle of September and Jupiter is entering Libra (love, harmony, justice) on 9th September together they are paving the way for the:
Revolution of Love!
As well as healing, (Chiron) awakening (Uranus, Eris) and fairness and Justice for all and not the few. (Jupiter in Libra)
On both a personal and collective level.
We will find the September energies positively culminating on the New Moon in Libra September 30th together with Jupiter in Libra heralding a new healthy paradigm for better relationships and love.

Ursa, I have to say I do not recall such a crazy, mistakes, things going wrong, miss communications and machines not working Retro Mercury. This one is both a nightmare and amazing. Not sure what has made it so extreme.
And in two days (16) it is the full moon, a Harvest Moon that comes along with a Lunar Eclipse. This promise to be fun, I mean, peculiar.

I've been lucky in that area but have been keeping a VERY low profile... However, I have had some technical issues at work that have come up in the last couple fo weeks... One system that we have exhaustively tested came on line last week and promptly fell over (broke) so yesterday we repeated the tests yesterday and it all worked fine... ???
Ironically, the end of Mercury Retrograde is the same day as the Autumn Equinox...
I have noticed though that my sleep is again suffering in quantity and quality (UGH!)
October could be interesting as well as there will be a "Black Moon"(2nd New Moon in a single month - opposite of a "Blue Moon") and it will occur on .... yep, 30 October - the day before Halloween...
-
Personally so far (knock on wood) the only issue had been with my bus car. I charged it with several tickets, when I pass it on the metro machine it is not working. Since I charge it on a metro/bus official shop and have a receipt, I will have to go there to see what is going on.
But, from the hospital to the supermarket, to wrong phonecalls to the house, everything is just crazy.
Iinterestingly, but not good, grandmother's epileptic episodes on the hospital were on the night of the previous Eclipse. It was like the Universe was messing with her electric circuit. :(
Ironically, the end of Mercury Retrograde is the same day as the Autumn Equinox...
I guess it is a good thing. Autumn will not be crazy machines and missed/wrong messages.
So, the full moon is upon us. Thigs may, or may not become crazier that they already are. I have been sleeping OK. I am so tired, that I fall flat asleep.

I'm seriously jealous.... Back to taking Baldrian before bed and Melatonin because I am waking up int he night again since day before yesterday.... UGH
And, speaking of communications and technology going wrong, the other night (Tuesday) MLCW tried to call my place to talk to the kids (10 minutes earlier than planned) and not one single phone (from 4!) in the house rang... They all registered the incoming call but NONE of them rang.... And the Answering Machine never picked up either so it was VERY odd.... Luckily, I looked at the phone at the time she was supposed to call, saw the blinking light and who it was and then called her.....
VERY odd.... 3 of 4 phones are "dedicated" cordless phones and the 4th is my cell which also receives calls from my land line via WLAN.... They ALL registered the call but none rang... For my cell, I even have a smart watch that vibrates so I can not miss a call... nothing there either...
Still waiting for Moon info this time... and it is full tomorrow.....
-
Both my mothers and ours landline phones are behaving strange. Mum's one has crashed and the provider does not know why. Ours is having more or less the same behaviour as your phones. Still, nothing major.
Still waiting for Moon info this time... and it is full tomorrow.....
The retro Mercury is probably delaying it. ::)

Thanks for the updates Anjae and UM
I have not been sleeping and I know it is making me CRAZY. Last week was really bad for me-I have managed to get a little sleep since then, but still battling the universe with that one, I guess.
My birthday is 9/22-end of mercury retrograde and Equinox. Wonder if I should just stay home that day ::)

OJ, mine's 9/21! We're doomed! ;D ;D ;D
I've had one garage door and two doorknobs break (how does that even happen?), computer crashed, hair dryer went out, fax machine died (2002 model, it was probably time). This has all been since Mercury went retrograde, but the lead up to this eclipse has actually gone quite nicely. Client return from a few years ago out of the blue, got offered more money than I was expecting on a few things I'm selling, good creative things. Happy to see if it brings the good "closure" it has been promising in the 'scopes.

For What it's worth - here is one take on the significance of tonight's full moon
This month's full moon and 2016's final eclipse will collide this Friday, September 16. East Coasters Note: that is for the US - UM will be able to see the moon as early as 3:05 p.m, and, later in the evening, the sun and the moon will align in a near-perfect straight line. But this isn't simply an event of astronomical significance. It's also a major heads-up for what's to come for the rest of the year — and a reminder that how you close out the year is completely up to you.
Remember all that difficult soul-searching you did last month, around the time of the Corn Moon? Now's the time to take stock of what's changed or, hopefully, improved in your life since then. Reflect on what you've done to get to this point in the year — even if you only made the smallest changes to your life. It's simply a matter of stepping back and seeing how they've taken effect. You've reached the Harvest Moon, when you're encouraged to reap what your hard work has sown.
The Harvest Moon is heavily aligned with the upcoming fall equinox, which this year falls on September 22. This doesn't just signal the changing of the seasons — in Pagan traditions, it's the moment in the year when you start preparing for the cold months ahead.
Where the summer solstice stirs up the senses and imbues everything with an enthusiastic energy, the fall equinox encourages you to look inward and practice self-care. Even as you celebrate the bounty of your year's "harvest," so to speak, be sure to reflect upon what you need to do to be present for the final months of 2016. Maybe make a to-do list or start working ahead to save yourself some wintertime stress.
More than anything, this is a turning point in the year: You should feel free to treat the Harvest Moon as a much-needed break. But, keep in mind what may await you in the fall and winter to come
-
And, it is here... the "main" source I usually quote...
Interesting in that my emotions have been VERY close to the surface all morning so far... and I thought it was due to the 2nd cup of coffee I had this morning...
Tonight is The Full Harvest Moon. It is called the Harvest Moon because at the end of September crops that were seeded in Spring are now ready to be harvested. It is the final harvest before Winter, so crops, fruit and grain would be stored to last through the winter months. The Harvest Moon is very bright, probably the biggest and brightest Moon of the year. This morning's lunar eclipse will create extra strong tides and energy flows, disrupting sleep and energy levels.
Tonight's Full Moon is in the constellation of Pisces. This will be a fiery Full Moon deep with raw emotions. Your sensitivity will be heightened. You may have to move away from loud noise, crowds and negative people. Try to be around nature tonight it will be very healing and nurturing to you. It is ok to cry a little and let yourself feel all those pent up feelings we hold deep down inside us, let them out and wipe the slate clean in your heart. Pisces is a water element therefore emotions and feelings are strong now. Be kind and gentle with yourself as you may be feeling ultra sensitive at the minute.
This Pisces Full Moon eclipse is here to dissolve what holds you back, to accept that healing is needed and necessary, Sometimes you have got to be brave and open an old wound in order to rip out what is holding you to the past and making you unhappy. There is something sacred about this painful process, it is something no one can help you with it something only you can do but it is necessary if you wish to heal and move forward. put trust in the universe that what comes is for our benefit.
This is a time of transformation, the earth is going through a major shift at the moment as it heads into Autumn. We are also going through a major change in our lives as the earths energy project themselves onto us. We can use this energy of transformation to become and be what we feel we need to be in order to move on and be happy. Pisces will make us feel a little braver and stronger, we may find that we have the courage to do things we were afraid to do in the past. Open yourself up tonight to the magical forces around you. Don’t be limited by the five senses or the ‘how’s’ and ‘when’s.’ Instead, believe in yourself and live from a place of magic and miracles.
The Harvest Moon is a time to reap what we have sown and cultivated this last year. Our own personal harvest is the culmination of our efforts to manifest a deeper and fuller life for ourselves. Name what you have harvested over the past year and bless it and yourself for the good work you have done.
This Full Moon let your emotions flow, get rid of past hurts, cry, scream or shout if you need to but let it out, allow yourself to heal. Let the waters of Pisces cleanse and soothe you. After tonight's emotional Full Moon when you wake to an Autumn Sun you will feel like a new person, full of vigour and energy.

I've been having a bizarre time with our phones lately. My dad tried to call my mom (they live in a different country) and this shows up as a missed call on my IPad. Stuff keeps happening like that. All my D FaceTime calls are suddenly showing up on my mom's iPad. No obvious setting that explains it. So strange.

Just ... have .... to .... hang ... on ....... for ...... 3 more........ days.......
;D
-
Of all the things to break/not to be in order, the thermometer's battery had to be it. And there wasn't one for sale. They had dozens of types of batteries, but none fit. We are going to have to wait a couple of days for the right one to arrive.
This Retrograde Mercury has been something.

I am always a little sceptical of these things about the moon, although in the natural world, I can see how the phases affect the tides (I am a sailor), childbirth ( I am a woman and mother ;)), animals...
Since Friday:
My washing machine broke down (I had to buy a new one >:();
My sewing machine slowed down to a crawl while trying to make new curtains (got it fixed yesterday);
Two of my dogs had an all out fight in front of my dad, which was very upsetting to him and to me especially (he insists I get rid of the dog as she is a danger :'() - they are a little better now, but still not great and this morning, another fight broke out among the others - the 'dangerous' one is in the kennel, separate from the other three;
I lost my bank/debit card :( Can't find it for the life of me, I found a lipstick I lost, though!); and
Insomnia reigns! :-\
How much longer, do you say? ???
-
Mitzpah,
I am as skeptical as you are... usually....
22 September ends the Mercury Retrograde (with the Autumnal Equinox to boot) so, according to prevailing wisdom, the technology and communication issues should start tapering off....
Dog fights are nasty, especially when the females are involved or doing it... Just like the normal world ;), when the males fight, there is a lot of noise and dust but it is mostly show. The females are quiet but they go for blood..... I have been in a couple of classes on dog behavior and in the videos, what looks like a HUGE fight between males, you can see that they are snapping just in front of the faces or so and, if there IS blood, it is usually a surface wound. The females go for the throat because THEY are the ones that are responsible for the continuation of the pack as they are the ones that can have the puppies... I really hope that you can get them sorted out...

You are right about the dogs, though. They are all females and have all been on heat recently, especially the boxer who is still 'dripping' (TMI). They do go for each others throats :'( :'( It is terrifying and upsets me no end. I really wish I could have just one dog but with h. dropping his two (boxer and mongrel) off on me while we have two lab girls :(... - Interestingly the worst animosity is between the dogs that came from h. The boxer is so much stronger than the mongrel. The labs can be surprisingly vicious which seems surprising as they are seen as gentle dogs. I am looking for a new owner for the boxer, as much as I dearly love her. :( She needs to go to a house where there are no other dogs :(
-
And here I was, thinking the Mercury retrograde had ended
I am somewhat skeptical by nature but always pay close attention to UM's posts
Hot water heater-broken
Tire-bad
Work-people driving me CRAZY
Insomnia-still reigning
My bday is 9/22. I should STAY HOME and get UNDER my bed if the last few days are any indicator
Sigh.

Yes thermometer, the device to measure temperature. It become a real important thing in the home because of grandmother.
And yesterday the interned decided to go nuts.
By the 22 things may already have calmed down, Jo. At least I hope so.

Not that I want to add to anyone's anxiety but there is always an integration period before and after a retrograde. You may still the effects of this crazy one up to another week. :o
-
True, Handpuppets. For me it tends to be the week, or some time before a retrogade.
But not eveyone feels that before/after period.
-
So, today is the Autumnal Equinox... therefore:
Today is the Autumn equinox when night and day are exactly at equal length.
This is a time of transformation, The great wheel has turned as we pass into a new season and say goodbye to Summer Note: In the Northern Hemisphere that is. The earth is going through a major shift, where darkness will now start to take over light as the nights get longer and days get shorter. Cold will start to take over warmth and death will start to take over life as plants will wilt and trees will start to loose their leaves, fields will become baron and grey, wild animals will start to hibernate and gather food for the winter months.
The Autumn equinox is a time of balance, of both light and dark, it is a time to look within ourselves and balance our thoughts and emotions, and to find balance in our lives. To embrace our dark and our light equally as one cannot exist without the other. it is when we stop and relax and enjoy the fruits of our personal harvests, whether they be from toiling in our gardens, working at our jobs, raising our families, or just coping with the hussle and bussle of everyday life.
Mabon reminds us of the cycle of life, death and rebirth. As we go into the dark half of the year, we also know that Spring and Summer will be upon us again.
Hoof and Horn, Hoof and Horn
All that dies shall be reborn
Corn and Grain, Corn and Grain
All that falls shall rise again

Thank you, UM.

This month I remembered ahead. The full moon is on the 16th.
Ursa, do you have something to say about October's full moon?
-
This month I remembered ahead. The full moon is on the 16th.
Ursa, do you have something to say about October's full moon?
Not yet... But I'll see what I can find....
-
There is a full moon here tonight on a clear night.
-
So, October 16th.... Full Moon, "Blood" &/or "Hunter's" Moon and a Supermoon to boot. YIPPEE!!! Or not
Tonight's Full Moon will be a SuperMoon. The SuperMoon not only affects nature such as the tides and wildlife it also affects us, our emotions will be heightened, our senses will be sharp, things that were hidden or in the shadows can now be seen. The October Full Moon is known as The Blood Moon because this was the time of the harvest of flesh, when farmers would slaughter their cattle and preserve the meat to last through winter, it is also known as The Hunter Moon because of the brightness of tonight's Moon it was perfect time for hunting both day and night and gathering food.
A SuperMoon amplifies the effects of a normal Moon, we will be feeling ultra sensitive and emotional at this time. We may find ourselves feeling strong emotions we don't even understand, happy and laughing one minute, teary and sad the next. Don't worry this will pass, this is the effect of the SuperMoon. We may experience wild and vivid dreams or dreams of the future.
If you have been feeling stuck in a situation or that everything has been standing still lately, get ready because this Full Moon will be bringing with it a wind of change. Tonight's Full Moon is in the fiery sign of Aries. This is a time of great change, the universe is giving us so many gifts and chances right now, don't be afraid to take them and to dream of bigger and better things, ask for more, do more, be more. Look at what may be holding you back and get rid of it. The Aries Full Moon is about new starts, getting rid of the old and bringing in the new.
So much of what has been suppressed is coming to the light now and shining so brightly that we cannot ignore it any longer. This Full Moon is about truth and seeing what is really there and not what we want to see. In life we can often see illusions about ourselves, illusions about others and illusions about our world, all of these will start crumbling away so we can rebuild on what is real and true.
The Aries Full Moon is a time of healing and cleansing, of getting rid of our negative junk and moving ourselves into a new and positive direction, look at all the good things in your life and look at how to improve the bad things. It's time to take a deep look within ourselves and to become more aware of what makes us feel comfortable and secure. With this potent Aries energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives. It's time to make some solid yet realistic plans for the future.
Tonight's Full Moon will be hot and passionate as we can feel the fire of the Aries element, yet we will feel a tranquil quality that can bring a new wave of calm and peace with it. The gentle dusting of energy bought by this Full Moon will allow us all to restore and recharge our batteries and perhaps even feel more comfortable with our situation and where we are at, we will see with clear clarity what we need to do to heal and grow. Let the fire of Aries wash over you and cleanse and heal you. Now is also the time to really get in touch with your passions and desires and work on making them a reality.
Have a blessed Full Moon

This explains so so much!! I have been working non stop for over a week, daughters wedding is 19 days away. So I thought maybe that's where this unease, anxiety, exhaustion, and just a wind of change I feel coming..... Until I walked outside yesterday evening after working 14 hour day.. And there it was!! Ughhh. :-[ so beautiful, but messes with me ungodly!! Things have come to light that's been hidden too....OW still in H life. There had been debate about it for months.... With that being said, it's giving me new perspective and strength about what I need to do, and how I want to live my life...i refuse to spend one more moment of me on them... I have to start a new life. Without him it's looking like.... :-\ but it's time....
-
Thank you, Ursa.
I can't see the moon. The sky is cloud full. I had been worndering why my sleep had been a little peculiar and the dreams so strange, then had to remind myself that, even if I cannot see it, it is the full moon.
Nothing of notice on the emotional front. Other than I fell strangely renewed.
-
Yes
Thank you UM
I always find so much insight in your "moon news"
Onlyjo
-
For me, there was a full moon I could see clearly on the 14, then last night it was cloudy and I couldn't see he moon. Watched the news this am and the weather report said there was a 'supermoon' and people sent pictures in.
It was big, beautiful, very low and close to the Earth. Really wish I could have been able to view it myself.
Thanks UM for your report.

Black moon tonight... The 2nd new moon in the month of October... This time I added my 2 Europennies worth of commentary... Maybe a "translation" exercise from Mystic-speak to MLC/LBS-speak?
Tonight is a New Moon is in the sign of Scorpio. It is time to shed our old skin, release what is dying and let go of what is not working for us. Scorpio is about death and rebirth. This is a cycle of completions and new beginnings. We are being called to trust our deepest instincts and follow where they are taking us.
Scorpios New Moon is all about change, just like a scorpion shedding it's skin we will feel the need to get rid of any negative attachments holding us down and stopping us from moving forward.
This New Moon is about sweeping your life clean of negative clutter. Our belief systems can crumble, routines and relationships may breakdown, structures that you have built up are challenged, things that you may have thought were reliable and dependable can come to an end, then new doors open and new chapters begin, you will be ushered into a new phase of your life.
Create the space for positive energy to enter your life. What is not working this New Moon will be highlighted. You will see new pathways and options opening for you. You can become who you truly want to be, rather than who you think you are supposed to be, this is the true meaning of transformation.
Don't be afraid to look deep into yourself and ask serious questions, explore both your dark and light side, as we embrace our own darkness we become whole. We are all made of dark and light the trick is not to let one take over the other, to embrace them both equally as both are equally important, without darkness there is no light, without light there is no darkness. We acknowledge the truth of who we are, which will help us see the truth of others. In other words, don't be afraid to do the mirror work that you feel is needed!
Scorpio’s strength is that it isn't afraid of the dark and so when the Moon is in Scorpio it is a perfect time to look at our shadows and see what we've been in fear of, what we have been suppressing and repressing and then dealing with it. When we face our inner demons and fears they aren't as scary as we once thought they were. Scorpio is keen about seeing the truth and if we can be truthful with ourselves, we will have a great opportunity to complete some aspect of our lives and begin a new phase.
Let us use these rare insights the Scorpio New Moon will bring to fuel our understanding of ourselves and the world around us, to allow us to see the big picture of what is occurring in our lives, so that we can easily navigate the changing tides. Scorpio holds the power of the water element, this will have our emotions on high alert, let your raw emotions come to the surface this will allow you to heal both mentally and physically. In other words, don't be afraid to cry, to scream (NOT at your MLC'er but in general) or to rage. These are valid emotions and have to be worked through as well....
Things are shifting now. Let’s move in a new and positive direction. The future is knocking at your door and is ready to take you on a new and exciting journey if you let it.In other words, you can take the opportunity to get unstuck if you are and grow forth.
The New Moon in Scorpio is sure to leave its extreme emotional mark upon us. It almost dares each of us to go into the unknown and expose new parts of the self which are waiting in the wings to be discovered. Let the waters of Scorpio wash over you and cleanse and heal you. Get to know yourself again and figure out what you really want.
-
Thanks UM.
-
Thank you, Ursa.
Yes, Scorpio, MLC, Jungian theory, the Tarot card Death all mean Death & Rebirth.
