I tried to find some info on line and couldn't.  I wonder if his parents were divorced.  He certainly had some major stressors. THe birth of 8 kids is no joke but I think Kate handled herself well despite all the attacks.  She has some work to do on herself but I can't stand how the media loves to make men's "bad behavior" an excuse for a crazy wife.  Cameras constantly filming your marriage and family life with eight kids now that's MIRROR work!

I agree totally with you Buggy.  I think she has gotten a lot of grief for the way she treated Jon (or was portrayed to - editing can skew things in exaggerated directions for sure) and maybe rightfully so but that is NO REASON for his horrible behavior. 

I saw a snippet of one show once when he had quit his job to stay home while Kate traveled and promoted her book or whatever.  I think they were asking him about how he felt about it or something like that.  He seemed so lost and without purpose.  And having eight kids would be a huge stress, especially with the added fun of having camera crews around a lot.

I am not sure his parents were divorced or not, but I do remember that his father had passed away.

Just an interesting tidbit
I was reading about Mel and his Wife today. Some interesting facts
He and his wife seperated in 2006.  This was when he started showing his crazy.  In April 2009 she filed for divorce.  Apparently that's when he got pretty bad.  His OW had a baby in Oct 2009.  Now he's spewing like crazy.  Wonder if Mel's wife was a stander and the pregnancy was the last straw?  THe article implied that his wife was always his rock and that the OW was totally opposite the type of person Mel was attracted too.  Hmmmmmmmmmm....MLC methinks?

Just for the record, OP, In Elin's exclusive interview with People magazine she claims SHE NEVER HIT HIM WITH GOLF CLUBS. I'm not buyin' it though...What else would she hit him with?

Well, in the end it doesn't matter and maybe she had to protect herself in the divorce proceedings. I just wish someone would tell the truth every now and then.

If it were ME, I would LIKE to have said "Of course I went after him with his golf clubs... I'm only sorry I didn't whup his a** and only broke the windshield but that is because IRL I am a normal human being who was pushed to the brink of temporary insanity by his serial unfaithfulness to me with about a hundred other skanky women and we all know anger is depression turned inward. Just an interesting thing going on in the media with Jon Gosselin...I thought you all might be interested be interested...he has issued a statement admitting to "some shame" for his actions.....it's all in classic MLC fashion where he's not taking fully responsibility....but i find it interesting watching some of these more public cases play out..it's another window into the process...and timeline...I think his bomb drop was approximately 18 months to 2 years ago....just a sidenote

Buggy, I don't know much about the Gosselin's because I've never watched their show... I did comment on another similar thread about Mel Gibson showing CLASSIC signs of MLC behavior - leaving the long marriage with all the kids, monster behavior, hook-up with younger woman who immediately gets pregnant, then monster again as his life got worse, not better and he's blaming it on her.... his OW seems to also be show classic affair down behaviors, hence the getting pregnant to get him away from the wife, etc.

My NEW MLC diagnoses goes to Bret Favre.... my husband's FAVORITE right now and I believe HE shows MLC signs for the past several years! Crying, retiring, un-retiring, crying, crying, crying, now the alleged text photos of his pen** sent to young woman while married, crying after winning a game, crying after losing a game...

I just read an article about the theory that pesticides in our food source is causing Estrogen Dominance and therefore "male menopause" and how "detoxing" can help a man produce testosterone at healthy levels. It stated that testosterone replacement caused the testes to NOT produce on their own and so would work for awhile, but would eventually be less effective. Hmmm. If only we had control of our husbands like lab mice....

Anyway, sorry if I messed up your new discussion - didn't mean to, but I like to indulge in celebrity gossip every now and then to ease the tension of real life!

Buggy - I have thought for quite awhile that Jon Gosselin was having an MLC. I hadn't heard the latest on him.  Their timeline is very similar to mine.  His symptoms certainly fit - younger (mostly) women, changing the way he dressed, taking up smoking after not, etc.  I believe his dad passed away maybe 3-4 years ago?  He was young when they married and got shouldered with a lot of responsibility with the kids, and then quit his job to stay home with them I think - all a perfect storm for MLC if you ask me.

Just heard a 1/2 hour interview with Tiger Woods on ESPN this morning.

It is almost his 1 year anniversary. Happened on Thanksgiving.

He sounded good, said his children were the most important thing in his life and that
he had made a lot of mistakes, but took responsibility for those mistakes.
